It’s super hard. I’ve fought this time and time again. Finally the only way I am doing this is by demanding to myself ‘you are not eating after 7 pm ANYMORE! ‘. It had worked I sometimes have to sit with my laptop on my lap scrolling Facebook or searching fun things. But I allow myself any snack I want before 7 pm. And actually I never take myself up on that because I’m not hungry yet. I was a big go to bed with a snack before falling asleep or waking at 2am thinking nothing about getting up and grabbing chips or saltines. I have stopped my habit now just by demanding to myself nothing after 7. Losing weight is easier now too.

@fell63013 believe me I was one that tossed and turned because I hadn't had a snack and literally could not fall asleep till i ate some fun food. I started playing FB games when I go to sleep. many of those like candy crush ones so I could play for a while and once out of lives in one I'd go to the next like Cookie jam, there are loads of games. I sooner or later started falling asleep to playing them vs falling asleep to eating. Now I don't even think of snacking before sleeping anymore. You can do it. Take control of you <3

Gonna definitely try it ❤️❤️

I’ve taken up knitting again and I’m learning to crochet - try and occupy me in the evenings as I’m sure I only eat due to boredom

I'm new to WW but at night, if I have a craving for sweets, I drink a Premier Protein drink. If I want something salty, I eat a boiled egg. Not sure if that helps. Also, I brush my teeth because I'm less inclined to want to eat something.

Are u eating enough during the day. If so, uv developed a bad habit. Recognize it. Find something to replace the habit : sex, water (hit/warm), diet pop. Whatever works best for u.

1 point hot chocolate. Add 1 point of whipped cream. At or before 8 oclock. Every night. Boom. Kitchen is closed. Eating is over. Period.

I eat my meals later so there isn't lots of time between dinner and bed. If I go out to eat I fix dessert ahead of time, Fruit salad popcorn, leave an orange out, for later.

I crochet and. Needlepoint. You can eat while using your phone but these hobbies require two hand. As long as you are not an octopus this will help!

I drink sugar free lemonade (or crystal lite type drink). I get the powder packets for a 16 oz, but put 32 oz water, then sip on it. If I eat past dinner, I track my points as the next day so I “catch up” by eating lower points the next day.

Here are my "tricks": 1. I plan for snacks: mid-morning, mid-afternoon and evening for 0-3pts. I don't always use them and I can decide to add any unused points for meals or just let them roll over into my Weekly Points the next day. However, knowing they are there seems to make a snack less important and I use them less and less. 2. I go do something. Anything. Even just get up and walk around the house a bit! 3. Get something to drink, like a hot tea or a flavored water and I sip it slowly. 4. I have a Splurge Day. Not a cheat day, because I track it all, but a day I use a chunk of my Weekly Points for a night out or an indulgence (or both). Mine is Saturday because I weigh in Saturday morning. During the week, if I have an urge to binge or a craving, I just tell myself I can have it Saturday and the urge seems to pass. I often don't even want it by Saturday!

It's hard, I know. Some options: Brush teeth, drink water, chew gum, drink hot tea, if you have to, knibble on veggies like broccoli, carrots, celery or fruit, sf jello, keep hands busy; sometimes I work on a hook rug. Or there's knitting, maybe doing a puzzle.
by (1.3k points)
@verein78 , brush teeth, drink more water. Walk everytime there is a commercial!

I have the same issue, I can go all day without eating, since I'm busy running around (I know it's not healthy) then I'm home at night watching TV and then start mindless snacking  that's how I've gotten into trouble and why I haven't lost any weight for a month now  I'm trying to snack on the zero stuff like a couple hardboiled eggs, or unsweetened applesauce with cinnamon to help with the sweets and if I'm really bad I have one of my Built bars that helps, but it all being night eating it's still not being burned off since I go to bed not long after. I need to try and switch to day meals and maybe drink more water at night

@teachin5 - this is me! Thanks for sharing - maybe we can promise each other we are going to strive for 3 nights this week of not eating anything after 7.

I find that drinking a glass of milk at night because of the fat content and milk are used to percent if feels me up when I’m hungry so then I don’t need anything I’d rather have the milk then see the cookie or a piece of bread. Fat fills you up. I am at goal.

I try to keep FF plain Greek yogurt and fresh berries handy for when I want something sweet. I make some type of zero point soup every week and that’s my go too if I feel like I have to have anything after the last meal of the day. Also hot tea and a built bar are really good and filling.

I've been reading about leptin resistance lately - interesting! I include my supper snack in my daily allowance - if you deny yourself a snack you will want to more! I have French fries crisps, a small portion of hummus / extra light laughing cow triangles, veg sticks plus either a WW bar or a snack packet of something like party rings. I know i will want something when little one goes to bed so just build it into your daily pts :-)

1. Close the kitchen. It’s clean, dishes done, lights out 2. Drink an I retesting flavor of tea. 3. Plan for a snack- fruit or plan the points and make room for it.

Major struggle for me. I did two things: I moved my bedroom to a room off the garage, one floor down from the kitchen. Also I surprisingly don’t climb the stairs to go into the kitchen. Lazy too, I guess. Lol. I work late so I will go to the gym on the way home, come in through the garage and stay in that bedroom. After working out for 20min-30min, it gives me the drive to not eat at night. Good luck. It is super hard at night.

I solved that by eating later, usually around 7:00. (I realize people with little kids can't necessarily do that. )
