I’m curious how many weigh themselves more than once a week? How many more times ? Daily? do you find it helps or hinders?

I do a mid-week weigh in just to see how I'm doing for the week so I can make any adjustments if I need to.

I do it daily but only count my weekly weigh in. I find it helps with keeping me in check. It also shows what you eat the day before shows up on the scale so I don’t repeat my food intake.

My weigh in day is Friday ~ whether good or bad it must be logged. That said, I also usually weigh Mon/Wed and if it shows weight lost, I log it ~ weight gained, I do not. Mind games my friend, mind games work for me!  And 1st thing outta bed, naked after peeing!

I got in a pattern of weighing daily & it threw me off. Weight fluctuates. I’d recommend once a week, first thing in the morning, wearing the same thing (or nothing).

I weigh myself a couple of times throughout the week, so when my weigh in day comes I’m not totally surprised. Or if I notice the scale going in the wrong direction I can remedy that before weigh in.

I weigh once a day and if it seems up, then I make sure i cut back on my sodium ect. I am a tracker so I know if it should be up or down. I dont let it get to me, because i know it will come back off. But it does keep you accountable.

Everyone is different some people weigh themselves everyday. I was like that and it drives me crazy to even see . 2 of a difference if it goes up and it becomes an obsession for some people they suggest once a week I usually weigh myself on Wednesdays and Sundays

Because my weight fluctuates so much, I found that weighing daily was discouraging. I'd loose a pound & gain 1/2. Lose 1/2 & gain a 1/3. If I force myself to only weigh once a week, I get steady results & less frustration.
by (3.1k points)
This is my thoughts! I’d go nuts if I weighed everyday. I still step on more than once a week because I can’t help it. I hate that. If I see a gain it’s discouraging. Even though I know it’s not a true reflection of my efforts. Before WW I weighed like once every few months. It wasn’t a number I referenced. Not because I hated myself for it but because it just wasn’t a number that mattered to me.

I’m surprised how many people said daily. I try to do it only once a week which is way more than I used to. But even ‘once a week‘ has me stepping on 3-4 times a week. It’s annoying. It’s not helpful to step on daily a persons weight fluctuates so much that I don’t feel like you’re getting a true read on your weight. Do those who weigh daily log it? What does your weight chart look like?!
by (6.8k points)
@hydrops I only log weekly. Weighing daily let’s most of us know where we need to adjust or avoid what was eaten the prior day. If I have a really good week I’ll usually loose anywhere from 3-4 pounds but if I’m eating certain things I will see the fluctuations and end up loosing and gaining the same pound or two. If I’m having a good week I’ll continue to see the ounces go down each day and track the whole week of loss. (Separately from the WW app) Keep in mind that as woman we have to take into consideration what our bodies are going through such as “that time of the month” etc. those weeks I rarely get on the scale because as we all know it’s never accurate. Like today, I’m up . 4 and looking at food intake from yesterday I know it’s sodium, so today I will really watch my sodium intake and lots of water to help flush my system, and by tomorrow I should see that go back down. For me, it’s held me accountable, I’m down 55 pounds, 15 to goal.

I weigh myself each and every day. I need to keep a close eye on things, in 2019 I lost 60 pounds. It is a real effort to stay within a 5 pound range of that goal weight. I have lost this weight before only to gain it back. This is how I make sure it doesn't come back for another visit.

Daily. I have salt issues so if I am up . 4. I know I need to drink more water. Also check salt in the food I ate the day before. When I eat out I tend to always go up most restaurants use too much salt for me. I do not cook with any salt. Lots of pepper, onions, garlic, and herbs of kinds.

Sometimes twice daily—morning and evening. When I’m off track however, sometimes I don’t get on the scale for months at a time. It’s how I bury my head in the sand. So weighing so often for me is a good thing.
