Did anyone notice our wellness wins can only be used for donating now? While I love the idea I don’t like our choices being removed

I donated what I had earned. I hope it does some good. I dont need another water bottle or cheap earrings.
by (2.3k points)
@huss2633 that makes sense but digital only members were not informed of the change.
by (1.4k points)
As a meeting member, I received an email. Check your spam. It is only till the end of June I believe. I have over 10K points. I have yet to see anything that I want.
by (1.8k points)
@barmen I’m digital only and I got an email alerting me of the change.
by (8.7k points)
@barmen They sent a email to digital members.

They can’t really ship stuff right now I guess so they are offering the opportunity to hold onto them or donate them in time of need.
by (1.7k points)
@giantess Why? They are offering to sell their stuff online.
by (4k points)
@permanent well either way. I don’t see what the big deal is. Before the virus I donated a bunch of points because they were doing some fundraiser to feed kids or something. Look at the stuff they offer anyway lol. Dollar store crap by the looks of it.

They are revamping the rewards they said so u can still save the ones u have and wait for new stuff.

This enables them to still offer something without endangering members and staff with making shipments during the lockdown. They probably don't have the people to fulfill physical shipments.

It was mentioned in my meeting today that it will be that way until the middle of june

Nope I wasn't happy, I would like to be given a choice
by (320 points)
@alliterative5 it's temporary
by (920 points)
You have, keep them or donate.

@udall3103 thanks

I personally liked the donation option. I didn’t care for the options before and just kept accruing points (for what?! ).
by (2.3k points)
@sihonn85 agreed. Was saving points for the tumblers and went to choose them today. This option works too.

Just don’t use them now.

It’s a rip off. I had. $15 credit from wellness points. I ordered the micro pop corn maker. Was $12. 95. Not only do you loose the extra $2 but they charge $9 shipping! I could have bought on amazon for $10 and free shipping.
by (2.3k points)
@benighted agreed
by (1.2k points)
@barmen the whole company is all about $. That’s why they keep changing programs every year. I only do on line. Not paying $45 a month for meetings. Oprah’s not rich enough!
by (12.5k points)
@benighted Agree. I’ve thought for awhile that all these new plans do is cause people to lose weight slower, so they can keep them paying longer. Just my opinion, though.
by (510 points)
@benighted ww is a business and they need to make money to pay their staff in the offices and in the field and profit for the share holders, you don’t rip supermarkets to bits for their big profits.

Stop it! Just stop it! SMDH!
by (3.8k points)
@bougie had to Google SMDH but me tooooooo!
by (4.2k points)
I am so tired of seeing petty complaints on these groups. They take away from the primary objective of the group.
by (3.8k points)
This feels particularly harsh I must say. I'm really not one to take offence to Facebook posts usually but COME ON!
by (4.2k points)
So I’m the problem, got it. Thanks.
by (3.8k points)
@bougie really not! I was agreeing with you! I'm appalled by the things people have been saying about it, hence my first comment to you above saying I had to Google SMDH. I'm 100% with you on this and what feels harsh are the complaints from people about not being able to claim their gifts short term. Really sorry it came across differently. X
by (3.8k points)
@bougie not what I meant at all, sorry sorry! Please see my next comment which didn't tag you properly.

Thanks Lucy

I understand anyone feeling uncomfortable about choice being taken away. But also have worked for charities for a long time and think this is really well intentioned by WW. Charities are needed more than ever right now, particularly the Trussell Trust. They are facing a huge increase in need and loss of income. I'm sure WW will reintroduce other options too at a later time so always the choice to not donate and try again later.
by (7.9k points)
@shrike The thing about donating is that we CHOOSE to donate! How do we know where the donations are going? It was already a choice for those that wanted to. I was less than 20 wins away from the silver earrings and now I won’t be getting them. I doubt they will be back. They also need to reduce the monthly fees for awhile since we are now only app and virtual. JMHO
by (3.8k points)
They are going to the Trussell Trust. It says so on the options.
by (680 points)
@venireman I mentioned the same thing about two hours ago in the other we watchers fb page.
by (2.6k points)
@venireman I wouldn’t bother with the earrings I used my Wellness Wins on them last month. They are so small you need a magnifying glass to see them. I also think if you have long earlobes they won’t fit.
by (7.9k points)
@shrike What is the Trussell Trust? This is the second time I have heard of this "Trust" and both times from very dem party members.

You all should have received this email from WW a few days ago. It’s only for a few months during this pandemic. It’s to help out people that may be needing it most. Let’s do our part to help our neighbor
by (7.9k points)
@unconsidered4 I didn’t get any email from WW and have no idea why. Never gotten one and my settings are set to receive them.
by (4.4k points)
@venireman is there a way to make sure they have your correct email address? Maybe it went to your Spam Folder?
by (2.2k points)
@unconsidered4 we are
by (2.9k points)
@unconsidered4 I didn’t get this e mail either.
by (18.2k points)
@unconsidered4 I didn't get that email. But yes it's a nice gesture.

@unconsidered4 I didn’t. Thanks for sharing

Stop with this foolishness. People have relatives and friends dying and people are whining about not getting a worthless trinket? Are you kidding? Then don’t donate.
by (2.5k points)
I think anyone nasty should be removed from this group.
by (9.1k points)
@congregational there are to many selfish people on this site. And it's sickening to see that there are so many people worrying about buying junk then feeding a family in a time of need. That's why this world is in a REBOOT and hopefully come out of it with nicer caring people .
by (680 points)
@congregational In my opinion… The trinkets might be worthless to you but some of us are working dang hard and if that’s what keeps us motivated so be it! I’m not saying that we don’t want to donate I just think we should choose whether we want to or not!
by (850 points)
@recrement You CAN chose not to. It’s only for two months. Then it goes back to normal.
by (2.8k points)
No need to swear at others. Once again, your choice is not to donate.
by (2.3k points)
@congregational YOU were outright rude and insulting over MY opinion! Don’t like my question then don’t comment! If the slang turn for a rectal orifice offends you, then maybe you shouldn’t dish out attacking and inflammatory comments to complete strangers. Just a thought

@barmen I’m sorry everyone is being ugly. I agree with you I thought it was shady, but I didn’t get the email so I feel better!
by (2.3k points)
@opisthognathous3986 it’s their immaturity showing. My opinion is my opinion and I don’t need the opinions of strangers who clearly have some issues to work through beyond facebook.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. In these days and trying times if you can be anything be nice. If you want to keep your points keep them. If you want to donate them then do so. Life is full of choices!

And this is why people leave groups like this. She asked a question. I'm sure she is fully aware of that's going on in the world with covid 19 and people losing their lives. Are we not allowed to think of anything else but this pandemic right now? Stop attacking her for asking a question. If you cant be nice simply keep scrolling. I know for one I'm old enough to know better, you all should too.
by (7.8k points)
@stereochromy well said! Really disgraceful !
by (510 points)
@alcantar Thank you!
by (7.8k points)
@stereochromy which is why I’m leaving.
by (510 points)
@alcantar Can't day I blame you. Support to be a page where we support each other not attack each other.
by (7.8k points)
@stereochromy I was taken aback but the nastiness. No one should be shamed for ever wanting or appreciating an incentive. This journey is hard and enjoying recognition is nothing to feel bad about.

Agree, I'd like to be given a choice as well. Not saying I wouldn't, and I'm closer to 4k now
by (920 points)
@bottomless but you do have a choice, keep them until they can be spent when the items can be posted to you safely or donate them. I'm really struggling to see the issue.
by (18.2k points)
@udall3103 I see that now. Not an issue for me. Just came as a surprise. Like I said, I'm not far from 4k, I'd rather do the large donation at this point. But I agree without knowing this prior, it's still nice to be given a choice. It's like telling someone who makes tons of money they should donate somewhere that YOU choose. It's their money, they earned it, they can donate how they choose. Or not at all if they so choose. They have to deal with their own conscious, it's not for me to tell them how to spend, nor to judge them for it.

I like making my own choices, especially while I'm paying for membership and doing the work to obtain my WINS.

I just wish the Canadian donations were comparable. In the the US 4000 wins is 60 meals. The Canadian is 4 meals to a family. I guess any donation is better than nothing but it's a big difference.

Omg! Just wait till June when all the items would be available again. It's not like the have awesome stuff you can't wait to get. Come on ppl so many complain about hating the few items they have available, now they hate to donate. This is mind blowing ti  Enough with the complaining. This quarantine us showing the worst on ppl ‍♀️

For those who are clearly easily triggered by a question, shame on you for automatically assuming that I have not donated or contributed to those impacted by this pandemic. My question was simply posted out of surprise rather than mere complaints. My hope is that for those choosing to express frustration towards a complete stranger who asked a question. you find emotional support for your obvious social-media-induced- pain.
by (14k points)
@barmen no need to explain, people just trying to make you feel guilty because you dare question
by (2.3k points)
@arc809 thanks. No explanation intended or needed, but more of a response to the ugly behavior of so many people who responded. For those with some sense and lack of self-righteousness, I hope this is a fabulous Saturday.
by (3.9k points)
I would not give my points to a charity for food we know nothing about. Support your own community. We have food banks, churches and other organizations that that are open year round. They are in desperate need of everything during this time.
by (2.3k points)
@sort Whitley Yesssss! I have no way of knowing if these donations truly are impacting people! And to be honest, these are freebies. I would rather donate to humans from my own pocket and home, rather than some unseen corporate entity

I have and will donate and I do my part! However, nobody likes to be told what to do! OR have their choices taken away! WW has a shit-ton of $. They can make their own contributions! And P. S. with no weigh-ins or live meetings we’re all just paying a hefty monthly fee for an app! What is WW doing about that?
by (400 points)
@alliterative5 Clancy-Palazzolo I agree!

I mean- it’s a freebie they are giving us to begin with so not really losing anything. But that being said- I hate when big companies ask consumers to donate - hello- if you want to make a donation from your company then make one. Don’t collect money from people that are already paying you. People can donate their own money their own way.
