Question

Hi there, I'm new here! I bought a box of sugar free yellow cake mix but don't want to make the whole box. Any suggestions to half the recipe? I've been using applesauce and egg beaters as substitutions for real eggs and oil. Thanks!

I would pour box out. Divide/ weigh in half or fourths. Do same with your ingredients. I would bag rest of mix in the divided quantities.

You can make the whole thing and freeze in individual servings I do that with everything

@marabout you just blew my mind. I can freeze cupcakes already made?! I seriously did not know this. Do they taste the same thawed?

@expire7664 if you refrigerate it tastes stale (to me) but if you freeze then allow to thaw at room temperature (can even heat a bit in microwave or oven) it tastes like fresh cake

@expire7664 any. you can do cherry coke and choc cake for black cherry Vanilla and orange crush. creamsicle For another time . a can of crushed pineapple with its juice and an angel food cake mix. Nothing else Any diet works with cake mix. saves you the oil

Just bake with diet soda - no eggs/oil needed. Beware though. some people end up with bad gas and stomach pains from this sugar free stuff!

I use diet 7 up, then when it’s baked and cooled, I poke holes in the cake and pour sf strawberry jello on the cake and refrigerate. We like it

I use the eggs and sugar free applesauce cuz eggs are 0 correct put fat free cool whip on top. freeze in portions

3-2-1 Cake mix: 3 T cake mix, 2 T water Microwave for 1 minute. Makes one cupcake
