Made sugar free brownies Using a package of Pillsbury sugar free brownie mix and a can of diet Cherry Coke zero. Baked per instructions in an 8 x 8 tin pan. Not a big fan as the texture was kind of odd, gooey. Anyone have any luck or suggestions? Served with some Cool Whip. 4 points a serving

I make these and use unsweetened applesauce instead of oil , they are good.

@durward125 how much applesauce do you use?
by (140 points)
@encomium19698 1/4C per egg
by (13.1k points)
@encomium19698 sane amount as what the oil is.

I used the same brownie mix but used 12 oz of Diet Coke. Top was same as yours but the bottom was almost jello like. YUCK!
by (1.8k points)
@kresic2138 Partches Dunn, jello like is a good description. I then put them in the freezer - let’s see if that helps!

@mauricemauricio mine went into the trash.

I've never made it with soda but I've made it as per box directions but substituted unsweetened applesauce for the oil.

I've used Cherry coke zero and Dr. Pepper 10. I let the brownies bake a little longer, and they came out fine. Served with cool whip, and even the kids ate them.

You can try a can of black beans. Here’s what you do: (edited) Drain and rinse a can of black beans in a strainer. Put the drained beans back into the can, fill it with water, add the can of water/beans to a food processor and make a mush. Add the black beans/water mixture to the brownies mix (just these two ingredients) and bake as directed.

@depress , now that sounds unusual!
by (900 points)
@mauricemauricio admittedly, it does. It’s good. I prefer this concoction with a regular brownie mix, but it’s good with the sugar free version. I swear you cannot taste the beans.

@depress I rinse a can of black beans in a strainer, pour them back in the can, fill the can 95% with water, then process in my Magic Bullet. Add to chocolate brownie mix & bake in an 8x8 pan according to the directions on the box. Nobody has ever suspected beans in the brownies!

@lissner you’re right. I edited mine.

I have made them as well, and you cannot taste the beans. They are pretty yummy!

With the black beans are the brownies fudgy or cakey?

I’ve made this with cake mix but not brownie. Just did a quick search and ppl suggest using a 9x13 glass dish and increasing baking time by 7 minutes. Plus do the toothpick test for doneness. Maybe that’ll help?

I used the Diet Coke too and didn’t really like it. I won’t be doing that again.

I make them the way the package says, o oh I add a little more water. I bought a Pampered Chef brownie pan, so they come out clean each time. I really like them. Sometimes I just do the dry package mix with a can of pumpkin for the same points, or add 12 Hershey’s sugar free special dark chocolates (chopped) for “chocolate chip” brownies. That makes them 4 pts.
by (830 points)
@barrettbarrette do you just add a can of pumpkin and nothing else?
by (11.9k points)
@encomium19698 Yes! I use a hand mixer to blend.
by (830 points)
@barrettbarrette thank you!

@encomium19698 You’re welcome!

Now I need to order the pampered chef pan!

@encomium19698 I’ve had my 9x9 Pampered Chef pan for 30 years. Still works perfect.

@recurrence44516 are those the only ingredients you used? Also, did you make these into muffins?

I LOVE the Pillsbury sugar free brownies (and sf cake mixes). I made mine following the box directions, but instead of using oil, I substituted unsweetened applesauce. I topped each brownie square with sugar free/fat free reddi whip and fresh strawberries! Delish!
by (4.7k points)
@grimona I did the same thing. used unsweetened apple sauce baked for 20min for chewy ones
by (2.6k points)
@rite87 me too! We’re delicious
by (1.2k points)
How much of the applesauce did you use and can you use it in the SF cake mixes too?
by (10.1k points)
@gonna292 absolutely! You use the same amount of unsweetened applesauce as you would oil. For instance: if the cake mix calls for 1/2 cup oil, you would use 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce instead of the oil. And yes, use this in ALL sf cake mixes AND sf brownie mix!
by (10.1k points)
KellyAnn Julian Stephenson, try the sf Pillsbury brownie mix. It is so good served with fresh strawberries and gd/sf reddi whip! Sooo good AND guilt free!

Oh I am going to try. LOL! Thanks for sharing.
