Everyday is a new fresh start. We all get into that frame of mind at one point or another. I reread the post I share with other people that are just starting out or need refocusing when I need to refocus myself. Maybe something on this will help you. The good thing is it is a new day! Today you start fresh. Today is your first day! Welcome to WW! Here are some basic tips TRACK every lick, bite, and taste. The program does not work if you don't track. You can lie to the tracker but your body knows what it ate. MEASURE breakout the measuring spoons, cups and the food scale. Don't eyeball it you will be wrong. EXERCISE find something you love. You won't do if you hate it. I personally like walking, dancing when the weather says don't walk, and cardio-drumming. I do cardio-drumming from YouTube videos. Nothing is more satisfying than hitting things with sticks. If you need to start easy try marching in front of the TV during commercials and then build yourself up to a whole show. MEAL PREP I always keep a big bin of chopped onions, a big bin of chopped bell peppers, and a big bin of chunks of cooked chicken breast. I also have staples like cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, pasta, laughing cow triangle cheese, olive oil farro, tzatziki sauce, garlic, eggs, apples, oranges, bananas, berries, whatever is in season. This way when I am hungry I have healthy choices. Breakfast omlette throw together garlic, onions, peppers, eggs and then fold it over a cut up wedge of laughing cow cheese. For lunch a very easy tzatziki chicken. Chicken, bell pepper, onions, cucumber, tomatoes. Toss it with tzatziki sauce. You can put it on a pita, eat it without the pita, or what I like to do is RIP up half a pita and mix it in after the tzatziki is mixed in. For dinner maybe a salad with the spinach, onions, peppers, chicken. Etc. Maybe pasta or rice with anything on the list. The most important tip is KINDNESS be as nice to yourself as you are to others. When you are giving your self negative back talk, ask yourself if that is how you would speak to a friend and give yourself a break. I almost forgot. zero points does not mean zero calories. For instance, a banana is zero points but if you over banana you are gonna get yourself into trouble. EAT you need to eat within 10 below and 5 above your points level. If consistently under eat your body thinks there is a famine and holds on to every ounce of weight it can until the famine is over. Under eating and over exercising is a bad combo. If you stick to 5 below and 5 above it works better. for me at least. You are not alone in this. A lot of us join with that "last resort" mentality. But don't think that way. Take a nice before picture with a big smile because today is the day your life changed for the better. You are gonna get healthy, you are gonna be fit. You are gonna breathe better. You just need to give it some time. This is a slow process but it is a process that works. I'm excited for you taking this big step towards a healthier life. You might want to sit down and write yourself a love letter stating why you joined WW and what your long term goals are, how you will accomplish them (small term goals) and what you will be able to accomplish when you get there! I personally would like to be able to get up off the floor without having to hoist myself up on the couch like I am climbing Mount Everest. That is one of the things future me will be able to do. Last tip. don't hang out in the kitchen. Eat there, cook there, clean the dishes. But if it isn't kitchen related get out of there it is too tempting. Also do not compare your journey to anyone else's. We are all different. We all have different metabolisms. So mind your own journey and don't worry that someone else lost more that week. It won't help your progress.

@salespeople Dear @salespeople! For you or anyone who takes the kind of time to write such a lengthy caring addition to these postings list- I thank you. Love getting all the facts, suggestions and ideas from those obviously in the know. Those who are or have been there. Your advice does not go unnoticed or not followed. I love to see where those sugar cravings may fall a little further from the wayside. I am constantly struggling with this . I am allergic to sugar alcohols and most plant extracts. This makes it so hard to give up sugar. This week I had to attend two Birthday parties and know that I have outdone myself on points. Ouch! Yes- Tomorrow is another new day! Just wanting to not get into that old mentality of blowing it. This is week 3 for me. Thank you, @branca

@salespeople How about Glucerna Chocolate drink for protein?
by (53.1k points)
@branca Saz I have never had the glucerna. I try to stay as natural as I can. I do okay about 80% of the time which is not bad because if I wasn't trying it would be a free for all of processed food. But I prefer a more natural way of eating. That is why I chose purple. 300 zero point foods which is great as long as I mind my portions. I do have dessert every night. It isnt natural. I eat the Edys no sugar added ice creams. I track it first and work the rest of my day around it. Thank you for all of your kind words. I stopped re writing this and a few others and have them saved and a share the same stuff a couple of times a week. Most of it is from meetings, some of it is from my life. But I figure if it helps me it will help someone else. People come on and ask for help and get one line words of encouragement, but no help. I try to help.

I like blue. Works best for me. Eating lots of zero point proteins as fish, chicken, eggs help! Sometimes, I'll munch on shrimp or deli chicken/turkey to keep hunger away. Veggies rather than fruit. and sometimes, like everyone I loose it, and start afresh the next day/meal. Always track.

When I get the grumbellies in the evening I drink a la croix flavored water. The carbonation makes the grumbling pass. Good 0 point solution.

Add a lot of zero points in there. A hard boiled egg is very filling, lots of veggies with meals.

Zero point foods are your friend! A nice ripe sliced tomato. Top it with a sprinkle of balsamic vinegar and lemon pepper. Or sliced cucumber. Freeze some grapes and munch on those. Or Celery with some hummus. I’m having one of those “I need to eat all day” days too!

Make sure you get healthy oils. WW used to insist we had a tablespoon a day. Doesn’t have to be at the same time. You won’t lose well without it.

I eat hardly any fat. May be why I keep having plateaus.

Have you ever taken a peeled and sliced apple, put a little cinnamon on it and sprinkle a pack of stevia or something like that on top, add a spoon of water and put in the micro for a minute. Tastes like an apple pie! 0 point dessert!

Protein and plant (fruit or veggie) with every meal/snack. Protein stays with you longer and plants fill you up!

Protein for sure! How long have you been at it? It takes a while to get past carb cravings. If I get to wanting something, I have a cup of Swiss miss reduced calorie cocoa. 1 point. I buy it by the case online.

Have you tried eating six small meals a day? Or 3 meals and 2 snacks? You definitely don’t need to be hungry or that can lead to binge eating. Try eating oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, protein, low-fat cottage cheese, nuts (small quantities) fiber supplement like Benefiber. If you are hungry eat an apple or a banana until you can put together a plan. Baby Goldfish 46 pieces 2 points. Crunchy, salty satisfying low points and better than grabbing chips. Stay away from sugar as much as possible. If I eat girlscout cookies instead of a real meal I am gonna be hungry. It’s my choice if I decide to do that but that usually leads to more sugar the next day (or the same day. ) Choosing grapes after a meal to satisfy the sweet tooth makes me feel so much better mentally and physically and I don’t have regrets later.

Fat really helps. I think ww focuses too much on low & no fat. It’s kind of outdated science. You really need day to feel satiated. Having said that, it’s nearly impossible to work much fat into the allotted points because that’s not how weight watchers is wired. What I’ll do if I’m really hungry is I’ll eat 1/2 tablespoon of a no sugar added peanut butter. 2 points. I believe avocados are zero points you could try that. There are some one point she sticks out there too.
by (800 points)
@nomism I find if I eat veggies and salad and protein with a little fat I don’t feel as hungry on the next meal. I also noticed if I watch how many grams of carbs I ingest I don’t crave carbs things- make sense !?
by (1.5k points)
@trusteeship wow! I didn’t know that. Thanks for clarifying that.

Peanut butter powder can be mixed with a bit of water: use 2 tbsp PB powder for 1 point and 7 grams of protein. Mix with enough water to make the PB consistency. I eat it with apples. I also eat 0 points salads with 1/2 avocado for 5 points and a great source of protein as well.
by (2.1k points)
@arelus This is good in Oatmeal too. It doesn't even need the full amt.
