Help!  I don’t typically ask for help but I live with my daughter and she works so I have nobody to tell me “NO” and slap the bad food out of my hand.Help! I don’t typically ask for help but I live with my daughter and she works so I have nobody to tell me “NO” and slap the bad food out of my hand. My problem is Saturday! I munch and call it my cheat day but over do it. Every. Single. Time. I am 2 weeks in and down 7. 4lbs, which I am proud of but know that I slow that process down when I binge on Saturday. I still track it but have instant regret. How can I change that mindset? I am determined to do this but Saturday’s are evil. Seriously up for any suggestions.

I struggle too so I try to plan activities that don't involve food as often as I can. If your friends are busy, find a meet up group or go to a place where there are people doing things you enjoy!

You might want to create a cubby in your kitchen or your room where you keep your snacks that you know you can eat there. Make it a variety so you don't have to worry that you're depriving yourself. Good luck on your journey.

I find I need my cheat day but I still kinda watch it. If I’m eating things I normal wouldn’t is it the lowest point/fat/calorie way possible. Example in tuna I use light mayo still but I don’t measure the amount . I eat it the way I like it on bread toasted with sweet pickles .

Mindset - reset - not a diet so can't "cheat", WW is a lifestyle change. Lifetime since 2008, am 68, never 'cheated', never denied, make best choices for me and when I go over points, move on the next day. Yes, it takes time to change the dieting mindset to a lifestyle change but you are worth it.

Replace bad foods with healthier ones and listen to that voice in your head telling you to "put it away". Remember your why! It's hard, but achievable

Track what you eat. good bad or indifferent. it will keep you aware of addl changes needed. I do bad on weekends too but before Monday I am back to reality. You will figure it out.

I find it helps me if I pre track my difficult days. Have the whole day prepped and accounted for. You . at be less likely to grab something mindlessly if you already have your day planned

And I love the no cheat day concept. it's a lifestyle as duly noted. I dont look at it as a diet. I look as it as a way to make better food choices. cooking at home is not so bad. I just had a gyro. but midway I stop eating the pita. then I eat meat only. then end up with like half sandwich left. I am not rich BUT I have learned how to discard food I'm done with. no more eat all the food on your plate syndrome. I'm 61 and that was drilled down in the past. Like I said. you will figure it out. until then don't beat yourself during this learning period

Make yourself weigh in every Sunday
by (1.4k points)
@nashner I think that’s what I am going to do. I think I chose Friday as my weigh in because I knew my weekends were rough and I do great during the week and that gave me time to work it off. I’m gonna give it a shot. Thank you!

Sounds to me like you are doing great! Are you sure that you aren’t cutting your points shy on prior days?

Maybe find something else to do on Saturday that gets you away from food. 7. 4 lbs in 2 weeks is amazing.

I have the same problem, but on saturday and sunday. try pretending it’s a monday? my weight loss is very slow, but even half a pound off is a small step in the right direction. i have learned to accept the small losses and i don’t beat myself up

Don’t have a cheat day. The only person who can do this for you is you. You either want it or you don’t. We all have bad days. Refocus and move on.

Try to skip an actual cheat day. Eat measurable amounts of foods you love all the time and count them. I do that and rarely feel deprived. My loss has not been fast because I do use all of my points and don't do much more than walks with my dogs. Nevertheless, I am losing steadily and very pleased with the program and my results of 45 lbs so far. I have my difficult moments-we all do- just get right back on track. I don't plan those times because sometimes I really don't need them :-)

I know for me I am 4. 6 lbs away from my goal! I went on a binge for like 2 days and ended up gaining 3lbs! It has taken me now 2 1/2 weeks of staying within my points and not eating after 8 pm to get them off! I think I was so close to goal it wouldn’t hurt! WRONG. So now I can go over my points maybe 1day a month. So try at first do every other Saturday to have a cheat day and then every third Saturday to cheat. Say to yourself I have to do something different this time. That’s what I am telling myself! Good luck!

Here’s another idea. The lady who posted about the built bars! Have one everyday they are excellent and they make me feel like I am cheating!

Is the cheat day in addition to your weeklies? Maybe just use up your weeklies and no more that day, and try to think of that as your “cheat”

The good thing is you are aware of it. I have been able to get over that by eating most 0 points foods on Saturday and that gives me some room for a "treat". Also, dont keep "temptation" food around. If you have the urge to nible, get a piece of fruit. Never feel guilt about having a little extra. That's why you have the dailies and the next day is a whole new opportunity to continue your journey and improve.

One plate on Saturdays. Save your extra points. Be creative. Start with a fruit salad. Big serving. Sugar free drinks nice fruit salad. 2-3 servings of veggies. 4-5 servings meat ham steak etc roast taters you get the picture. Your going to get full cupcake dessert but at store. 12 at home your going to eat them all. Be creative. Make a hudge plate of yummy food be creative with points. Your very smart.  You'll make it.

Your doing GREAT!  Remember it's not a diet it's a LIFE style change. If your are restrictive , and don't make room to feel comfortable to eat the things you want, you will fail and regain the weight in the long run. Take comfort in knowing you can eat outside the box on Saturdays and not have someone slap food from your hand and still succeed. We all should be so comfortable with weigh loss that we don't deprive ourselves  at all times.

Eat your breakfast then try going for a walk as much as you can, drink lots of water, treat yourself to getting your nails done, sometimes staying busy helps, but don’t beat yourself up, a treat is different than going all out for the day. You got this!

Buy snacks in portion sizes. Eat more zero points. Don’t buy what you don’t have control over. When you buy big bags of things, you have a tendency to eat the whole bag even though your intention was only to take a little bit. Don’t give up. Start the program over at your next bite.

I think it’s good to have one day. I think it’s good to rev the metabolism. Why not plan out everything and stick to it. What calorie allotment you have go 250- 500 cal over it.

WW is not a 5 day a week program. Try to remember that feeling good is much better than tasting good!  You can do this!

Sounds like you need a distraction. Done sort of crafts/ puzzles or go somewhere you can walk like the mall or museum
