Can someone help me with a measurement question? I made chili (meat, beans, diced tomatoes, broth, etc. ) and created a recipe in weight watchers. It's supposed to be 12 servings for 5 points. How do I figure out what 1/12 of a crock pot of chili is?!? I could be at 10 points before I know what hit me. Thanks!
Can someone help me with a measurement question?

Right, I know the ultimate way is to measure the entire crock pot but I guess I was hoping there was a different method. :) There is no way with a family my size and activity level I have time to measure out an en uptire crockpot one cup at a time. I just won't use this one again for a while. sniffle.

@sevenup I've measured using my 4 cup measuring cup. It really doesn't take that long. You only have to do it when you first create the recipe.

@sevenup buy yourself an 8 cup measuring cup. It will hold up to 8 cups at a time. That 8 cup measuring cup will have markings on it from from 1-8 on it. Takes no time to measure a recipe. Job done!

You need to measure how many cups of chili you have

You kind of have to measure it in containers or use a cup measure.

To do it correctly, you would need to measure out one cup at a time from crock pot to a bowl to see exactly how many cups there are, then figure from there.

What size 5 quart? Full? Measure with water prior to using by measuring cups.

Measure how much of each ingredient you put IN, then divide by the number of servings. Ex. 10 cups of ingredients which equal 10 points results in 10 one cup servings at 1 point/cup. (10÷10=1). Do you want a 2 cup serving? Your 10 cups of chili at 1 point per cup works out to 2 points for a 2 cup serving. (10÷5=2).

What’s the capacity of your crockpot? Could probably estimate from there. Doesn’t have to be perfect.

Great ideas. I need to start incorporating—I usually don’t measure. I see why I continue to loose the same 2 pounds

Just for future, buy the glass storage containers with measurements on the side. I believe I've seen them at target and Walmart. It has cups, ozs, etc and are caserole sized

Most cookware has size stamped on the bottom. Just do the math to figure out how many cups that equals and then divid by 12 to see the serving size.

Or transfer to another container by cups full.

Weigh the whole batch in a bowl on a food scale. If it weighs 48 for example, divide by 12 and then you know it’s 4 oz per serving and you can weigh it out into containers.
