I was skeptical of the camera’s being waterproof so i made sure they were all closed up properly like and now one is flooded and won’t work, battery is ok but it’s dead, any others suffered similar ?

Which model? I've had many outside for years and never had any have water ingress even with torrential rain

Pro and Pro 2 have the same housing and are the older cameras that have been there the longest. I've worried about water getting in through the charging port but never had it actually happen even with the solar panel attached. Where do you think the water got in?

@terrie Thanksng I have no idea Steve, it’s rather perplexing, considering I was paranoid and double checked it was probably closed up.

Are you submerging them in water?

Mine have been out for more than five years. Rain. Below zero cold. Up to 100 heat. No problems.

So far I’m good with my Pro 2 cameras. One is in direct weather with the others under waves or covered porches, one inside.

So hopefully Arlo will replace the camera, and I've just bent up some stainless steel flashings and I'm going to fit them to offer some protection to the cameras, I'm just not going with the waterproof narrative anymore.

Ok update on the flooded camera, i left it open and covered in black plastic in direct sunlight for a couple of hours, there was condensation on the plastic when i unwrapped it, so i reinstalled the battery plugged it into the mains and it came back to life, im not going to trust the water tightness now and will tape all egresses up and remount it under a flashing i made up. Cheers.
