So I bought a Doorbell Camera 3 months ago. Took over a month to get working (the first one bricked itself updating its firmware when installed and took weeks of fighting with Best Buy to exchange it). So today my free trial ended and I no longer have the free 7 day storage that everyone gets with the Arlo 2 system. I called CS and when I finally got a live person they explained to me that once I took the free trial with the doorbell I gave up the free 7 day storage on my other cameras. So now I have to buy a plan or get no storage. I do get notifications though. Local storage does not seem to work. What are others doing?

I would write to the company rather than call. Sometimes it gets to a supervisor if you write

@akkadian510 that’s why I suggest you send a clear letter with the particulars to the company. The phone people have a stock answer and no power. You may also want to cc the attorney general of your state. Just having that cc on the letter may get you a response. Had trouble with Verizon in a similar situation and dang if I didn’t get a call right away from an executive!

You need to have a 4500 or higher hub to view local storage. I believe you can still store the data locally to a USB drive however it would be useless for real-time viewing.

I love my arlo cams but if something comes out with a better price structure or even allowing me to record to my own hard drive with the same ease of use as arlo I’m jumping ship without questions.

You should still always get the 7-day recording on Pro 2 cameras, no matter what your trial status is on the Video Doorbell.

Curious how this resolves. I have the Pro2 system. Was bidding on the video doorbell, but now I may wait. I agree with others that the Pro2 is supposed to be free 7day for life up to five cameras.

I’d be so pissed, unless they made it crystal clear that that was going to happen. I’ve tried their trial for my camera and it would revert back to free service as it should. I’m now glad I didn’t get the doorbell. I’m guessing they’re trying to get as many as possible on the subscription service however they can.
