I just have cameras at a height out of reach. You can use a screw mount for the casing but anyone who is familiar with these cameras knows you can just push the button underneath and pop out the camera guts. But people familiar with the camera will also know the footage of them stealing the camera will be in the cloud. I use a combo of overt and covert cameras. Black silicon skins on a black fence is quite inconspicuous

Just got to put them high as you can get. Or build/buy a protective case around it. Or place them in a inconspicuous spot.

I got the same hoop! lol

The green camo skin would help hide it even more. Sneaky spot. And cool if you want some video of you shooting hoops too :)

@geotectonic61 got that free when my friend decided to let his house go into foreclosure years ago.

@terrie Thanksng lol I’m sure I’d clobber it with the ball

This is where I’ve got both of mine now. I’m restricted as to where they can go with the areas of where I want them. You can’t just leave them fully exposed because the outdoor elements do effect the motion sensor.

I've had Arlo cams for at least 5 years. Apart from one, I only use the magnetic mounts. I've never had one stolen even though several cameras are at face height on the fence (but black skins on the black fence). I do live in a reasonably nice neighborhood though. Also for the main entry point to my property, I have multiple cameras from different angles so if one was stolen, at least one other would record the event. Cross triggering is good here too

Thanks for the camera positioning guys! I'll be sure to "stop" in during the next outage!

@terrie Thanksng Smart idea! I didn’t love the magnetic mounts tbh.

@terrie Thanksng My only gripe I have to say is I find that the sound on the Pro 3's microphone is ridiculously quiet. Any solutions on how to fix that?

@terrie Thanksng

Not sure, sorry. I don't seem to have an issue with audio levels. Is it the same for all of them?
by (520 points)
It seems to be a widespread issue if you google it online

@geotectonic61 oh. Speaker not mic. I don't use my camera speakers
by (520 points)
@terrie Thanksng You don't use the audio?
by (32.4k points)
@geotectonic61 mics for recording but not the camera speakers
by (520 points)
So I'm guessing you'd just use the siren then.

@terrie Thanksng sane here been using for 5 years I run the original and the arlo pro 2 cams, 7 of them with the smart AI plan, no issues everything still working and I do the cross trigger between cameras as well, not sure if that feature really works thou, need to test it.

Oh nevermind I just read this only fits the Wasserstein aftermarket charging cables. Damn, back to the drawing board.
