Unfortunately, this does not help cameras that have a low Wifi connection. The cameras connect to the base stations WiFi network. Only way to extend range is get more base stations.

And plug the base station into the WiFi repeater.

You can use a wifi extender to move your base to a more centralized location in the home. My cameras work excellent using this.

The cameras use the wireless signal from the Arlo hub, not your WiFi. Not saying a WiFi repeater won’t help with the internet strength throughout your home, but it won’t help with the signal strength to your Arlo cameras. Sorry

What modem and router do you have? WiFi repeaters are a gimmick they are really meant to power a phone or tablet at most. You will have a few people who say they work but most of the time their using poor equipment. Most likely you are using a 2 in 1 modem and router combo (aka gateway) or worse the one the isp gives you. You needs a stronger modem and router for these cameras avoid 2 in 1 systems and buy separate modems and routers

Unfortunately the Base unit and cameras talk to each other on a separate WiFi produced by the Base unit. So if there are a lot of other WiFi signals around the Base unit this causes a weakening of the signal from the Base unit to the cameras. So to overcome this problem place the Base unit central to all cameras with as little obstruction to the signal as possible ie stone walls and steel sheeting. Then connect the Base unit to the router or cable directly a powering WiFi extender.

This is why I have 2 hubs and a mesh wireless system with 3 access points. One base is plugged into access in my garage the other base connected to another access point in the house.

Range extenders suck even when used right, mesh is the only way to go for WiFi. As others have said, your WiFi setup does not help Arlo as it runs on its own system.

I do not recommend an extender. Bought one and had a lot of drops that tech support couldn’t help with. Returned it and got a more expensive one that worked for a week then started dropping too but was too late to return so I’m stuck with it now. Arlo does not recommend extenders at all.

A few friends of mine have purchased the Blink cameras and I really love their ability to zone parts or disable certain parts of the field (like roads or neighbors driveways) as to not drain the battery with useless notifications/recordings.
