Question

Anyone else genuinely surprised when it’s the night before payday and your checking account isn’t in the negative? Like I know that’s the whole point of budgeting, but it’s still surprising to me sometimes.

After so many years of it always being so low it kind of freaks me out when it ISN’T low  The night before payday I usually move whatever is left either to my savings or pay it towards a debt.

YES! And also it’s weird not to have to use every single penny from one paycheck for rent.

I still panic a bit when checking my balance! But it's been a nice surprise lately lol

I had $103 in my account before the paycheck hit this morning, not gonna lie, I was holding my breath hoping there were no auto-payments I forgot about.

I still get nervous pulling my cash out. But it’s working!

This time was a total shock! We had $358 when our checks hit! I got an expense check from work and it floated us. Such a good feeling.

Literally just said this to my husband last week. Like I was shocked at hmm this budgeting thing works. The first time in I couldn’t tell you how long I wasn’t holding my breath for his check to deposit because we either were or were on the verge of going negative.
