Does anyone else feel like the universe is completely against you paying off debt when you have been trying so hard?! I’ve shared before that my HVAC died (almost $8000 replacement), my washer and oven both died. Came home to find my basement bathroom flooded and my university just canceled our summer classes meaning I am losing about $13, 000 of income I was hoping to use to pay off debt. I’ve taught summer classes for years! I could cry right now.

I feel it. We have been paying down debt and saving money and then all of a sudden our puppy broke her leg, thousands of dollars that we didn’t expect to spend  it’s like every time we start to do good and get on track, something comes up! But I know it’s just the way of the world and it’ll resolve! Hang tight!

Do you own your home? I feel this is a sign to relocate or to do something you've always wanted to do.

@poore Yes, I do and my mother and ex have all moved here with me. I have to move them all but we are thinking about it. Well, @dross58173 is pushing for it anyway if you can’t tell. Lol.

I don't know what to say to make you feel better. Hold on. Go ahead and cry, or whatever makes you vent. Texting here is a good start. For starters, right off the bat, do you really use the oven that much: If not, this replacement can wait. The washer. is a laundromat near you? Maybe use a friend's who lives super close to you for a while. …? A flooded bathroom …. that's a killer for me. the mess, the smell. Did you get it unclogged? (I'm not a plumber. do u happen to have a plumber friend? Even advice over the phone is a relief. Cancelled summer classes! Big time bummer. Maybe there is a "silver lining" in this. keep the faith, Heather. Keep the faith. Keep us posted, OK?

You are an amazing woman and you WILL move through this. After you have a really ugly cry, lift your chin, look in the mirror and say, “Won’t nobody ruin my day! ”.

I know how you feel 100%. And just when I’m like ‘ok I can start really plucking away at my debt’ I can literally feel the world laughing at me, and continues to throw “life” at me all at once like “here ya go! ” It’s the worst. Hang in there - I’m keeping my head just above water too, still swimming.

Is teaching on line classes on line possible? I have several friends that teach them through the local community colleges. Or night classes? Hang in there, there’s brighter days ahead.

@stereography yeah, my summer classes were online at this university. Most of our summer classes were. I am going to apply for other online adjunct jobs. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hang in there! One day at a time and control what you can. It’s easy to go into a downward spiral when stuff like this happens but staying in control where you can (groceries, eating out, etc. ) will help. Wishing you better days ahead!

I totally understand. My oven was broke and I went for a year without one. And many other challenges. Have a good cry. Get it all out. I call it my pity party. Then pick yourself up and prioritize your sh*t. Small actions repeatedly will lead you down the right path. I’ll be praying and cheering you on.

You are going through a very tough time, I cannot even imagine, but girl, YOU ARE PERSEVERING. Your attitude in the last paragraph alone speaks volumes about you and shows us that you got this. Go ahead and dust yourself off. Remind yourself that you are a BADASS. Go about your way and let everyone else stare in amazement as you come out the other side fiercer than ever. Many well wishes, you can do this’, and YAS QUEENS are being sent your way. We know you can do this. ❤️
