So question.  I will be having a baby soon in the beginning of March. So question. I will be having a baby soon in the beginning of March. I already have a 6 years old and my husband drives us back and forth to work and school and md appts. I want to learn to drive but then it will be helpful if we both have our own car especially now when the baby gets here. I should be receiving like 1500 in our tax return and I was just wondering first if it’s even possible to put that toward getting a second car? If it is should I? I owe money to our landlord almost 4000 for some time and he just wants to know we are making payments. I am trying to get our budget together once I have an idea of how much I will be getting during maternity leave to see how much we can give him. I also have a program which is allowing me to pay our debts to fix our credit. I was just wondering since with 2 kids and both of us working I think having a car will be very useful and needed but wanted advise. Thanks

I would use that money to catch up on rent. After you are caught up then focus on getting a 2nd vehicle. We had 1 car for 12 years until we could afford another. We had 4 kids at home then. My suggestion is to try and make it work.

You do need to get your license and a car HOWEVER paying your landlord should be your first priority
