How long does it take for your credit score to be updated? I did a balance transfer, and instead of seeing that change, credit karma has me having two cc with same balance. Means it looks like I am using 44% of my allowance rather than 22%

Your score can change daily, as each account may report on a different day of the month. But each account only reports once a month, so every 30 days. but as a banker I tell folks to give it 45 after you do something like that.

Usually once a month for me. A similar thing happened to my fiancé recently where credit karma showed both accounts with balances after the transfer. but it fixed its self the next month

I had that exact same thing happen. Had to do with when my credit card companies reported. The next month it went right back to normal.

The one you paid off probably has not reported yet so it can’t update it. When is the next statement date?

It really depends on how often they send updates to the credit bureaus.

This may be an absurd question, but does checking to see what you qualify for in regard to a mortgage do anything to your credit score?
