I feel like sharing my revolution. I was speaking with my mom (60years old) and was telling her how I’m starting this budgeting and zero debt journey. I had her guess how much credit card debt we had and the monthly min. She froze up and was like I’m proud of you but I don’t like to think about that stuff I have a lot still. And it hit me. I think so many of my debt habits stem from my parents. I just realized how I have watched them or confided in them when we were in financial hardship. I have seen them lean on credit and in the past they have encouraged me to use it when we have home emergencies. Don’t get me wrong! They are not in some terrible place and they make very good money, but the fact that she said she does not want to deal with it just showed me I’m doing the right thing. I also hope I’m going to set a better example for my kids. I think our generation is starting to realize we can live with less and be happy. We don’t need to put ourselves in a financial hole in order to have what others have. One example is, I always thought I would want a bigger house and in the last couple years I have been thinking. why? You don’t need it there is nothing wrong with this house! Thanks for listening! Everyone keep up the good fight for financial freedom! ❤️
