I conceal carry a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. Highly recommend. I also highly recommend Well Armed Woman holsters for conceal carry. They have a slim profile and are so comfortable! They are also a female owned and operated company and their customer service is incredible.

@panpipe699 love the gun case
by (5.1k points)
@us54993 Thank you! I actually ordered a plain color one because it was cheaper but it ended up being on back order for a month. I emailed customer service and asked if I could pay for the upgrade to this one or cancel the order and they semt me the upgrade for no additional cost.

I have a sig 380 and a glock 9mm. I dont leave home without the glock! I have concealed carry so nobody knows. I like both but for cwp and protection I'd rather have my glock!

Minuteman Defense has great holsters! My husband and I both conceal carry a ruger lc9 with mine from here. Has a good strong clip to hold onto jeans, and a trigger guard. He actually makes the trigger guards that Dene Adams used (uses? Not sure if she still does) in her corsets
by (3.1k points)
@mead8182 I have one as well but those get too hot for me
by (3.1k points)
@noheminoil50570 oh awesome ! I love my lc9 but may be upgrading to a sig soon
by (4.8k points)
@kirstiekirstin that's my problem, I cant stand to be hot and the belly band is perfect
by (3k points)
Im definitely ready for new gun but i want to carry it in the back

Nope that sounds about right. Is this cash envelopes or sinking funds or both? Not sure if you thought of this yet, if your kids are school-aged. dont forget lunch money for next school year. I have 2 kids going to school next year which might be $800-900 for the whole year. There is no way I will have that kind of money lying around every time they run out, so I made a sinking fund to prepare. But I think you are off to a great start. I need an envelope for my crafts and clothes. Both are so expensive these days.
by (3k points)
@pontic its basically siking fund, yeah i will have lunch money with kids stuff

I have about the same for my sinking funds and cash envelopes. I’m considering adding more. I live in rented accommodation and although it’s furnished I would like some of my own stuff to make it feel more like home.

I love that you budget for guns! I showed my husband! Waiting for his reply. but really brilliant! Didn’t think of it. We hunt and go to the range.
by (3k points)
@lanark we ise boxes to shoot at, we live out in the country but i tried to do everything i could think of
by (1.2k points)
I didn’t even think of this. I should have. We buy so much ammo and at least 2 guns a year. Geez. Even thinking about it sounds like a lot!

I have an envelope for hunting. As soon as deer season rolls around, hubby needs everything he can think of, and it adds up

I have way more envelopes. Its a big mess, but helps me organize at the same time and helps me remember what I need to pay for
by (5.6k points)
These are all my sinking funds envelopes
by (5.6k points)
And these are 3 month emergency fund envelopes. The milk envelope is for our raw milk herdshare so we consider it a bill. Hubby is laid off for the winter so budgeting is a little harder living on half his normal income for the next couple weeks

Also, Im doing that "something you want, need, wear, read" for my toddlers for christmas too, so Ive been buying gift cards for specific places so I already have them on hand at christmas. For clothes, I got a tj maxx gift card. For books I got an Ollies gift card. For something they need, I got an amazon gift card. And Ill probably get one for walmart. I also put some money in it, but Im hoping itll help keep me out of so many stores so that I dont carelessly shop for junk I dont need lol
by (3k points)
@outlander i did this last year for my 6, 5, 4 year old and saved alot
by (5.6k points)
Im hoping it helps me save. Im trying to practice some minimalism too so I hope it cuts down on clutter
by (280 points)
@outlander I’ve done this the past few years. Now my children even give me their wish list broken out this way.

I have a lot. I just leave the ones I am not planning to use that day at home so I am not carrying them all around with me. We personally do better when we have lots of categories

Right now, I have Gas, Misc spending, Food/groceries, tax savings, YMCA, Dance Tuition, Pets, Household, Lunch Account. And then I have started these sinking funds: Water bill, Christmas, Rando Holidays, Birthdays, Car Maintenance. Once things start getting paid off, I'd really like to add like, a fun envelope, and a vacation sinking fund. But, I have to keep my priorities in check lol.
by (3k points)
@cleliaclellan61352 thats what the green is my priorities one

If you want to simplify, you could have all those categories in one sinking fund and just make sure you list how much goes to each thing. Or you could consolidate things like holidays, hobbies, etc

I decided having a bunch of different envelopes wasn't making me feel any better about our situation. Instead if made me feel as though I was never going to get anywhere. So instead. It's one large envelop that we contribute to every month. We use it as needed and then figure out the rest. It's worked so far. I just want to stay focused on paying off our debt and will work on envelopes after. One step at a time. Do what works best for you and your family. Most of all. do what keeps you motivated!

I had way to many. So, I opened an interest earning checking account and I put the long term envelopes in there (Christmas, holidays, car maintenance etc) and put the simple budget app on my phone so it shows how much in that account is in each envelope.

My first month attempt. Can’t do cash but this works perfectly for my brain! Of course blew eating out budget tonight for school fundraiser at friendly’s, will cover against grocery budget since I won’t be going again until after Feb month close out.
by (2.7k points)
@calisaya Goodbudget. I’ve tried a few others. This one works the best for me. And it’s FREE!
by (3k points)
How do you fill the envelope
by (2.7k points)
@us54993 With it being an app, i put the amount allocated in the envelopes that i set up. I’m not one to carry cash and keeps me honest and accountable for what I’m spending. After trying a few apps, this one works best for my brain.
