Question

What is everyone’s amount for car repairs/maintenance? Enough for the deductible? Enough to replace car tires? I want to make my goal what it would cost to replace high price items for it. Or maybe not? Idk it’s been years since I have utilized sinking funds. Please help.

After doing TBM method for less than a year, my car needed a major repair to the tune of 4K. We were able to use a small money market, some EF, and the sinking fund money for vehicle maintenance in order to not use a CC. I put in $50 a month now to replenish. I should probably do more just in case, but that’s what I settled on.

Deductible + 4 tires+ 4 oil changes + $500. When it’s full, I add $100 per month.

Plan annually 1500 and keep it growing then when time is right for a new car put it towards the down payment. If car is new then 50 a month and increase 10. 00 a month on the cars year anniversary
