Shout Out to the folks making minimum wage trying to just stay afloat. I was there, doing everything I could just to not fall behind. That was no internet, no tv, no cell phone, no car, growing food in the summer, only hanging laundry, wearing clothes till they fell off me. Budgeting to the extreme. All as a single parent with barely any income. I found a government program (Canada) to pay for schooling and at 30 found my career. I found a decent job in my home province, left my life behind, moved in with my parents (very uncomfortable) and scrimped for a car and a down payment. Got both, and found a better paying position with benefits etc in my field. If you feel stuck- take a few days, go for long walks or whatever- and think about a bigger picture. Can you move? Find a better paying job? Get a grant for educational upgrading?
