Sometimes there’s a wrench in your plans and you just have to roll with the punches. Our dryer went out today and husband fears the dryer will be right behind it. They were both purchases from a scratch and dent store over 5 years ago, and we knew eventually they’ve give out. Husband tried to see if he could repair it but it appears that the cylinder is the damaged piece. Here’s my dilemma, I didn’t want to purchase a new washer and dryer combo until we purchased our first home but now I have to go to a washateria for my laundry needs which can get expensive. However, husband wants us to cash flow the purchase, which is great but now I’ll be stuck with 2 electric machines when we get our house. Any advice?

Buy used and resell when you move. We have a place that sells used ones they take apart and clean and place parts if needed and sell with a warranty. We used them for 4 years

Can you purchase a cheap used machine in the meantime?

@boa531 that’s what I’m considering.

@boa531 we bought a used $75 washer that we used for 3 years while we waited to save for the washer I wanted(speed queen) ended up buying used to get one with the old metal parts $400 for a 1200 machine and it’s going 6 years since I bought it. Also bought a used $35 dryer I bought at the same time. Still going strong.

@desantis780 I started looking in Marketplace but the cheapest ones I’ve found have been $300-$400.

Buy used or dent and dings, sell them when you get the new place to help cashflow the desired set at the new place

Also, only get what you need for now. Don't worry about them matching, that's cosmetic.

I’m not sure where you live but Best Buy now has outlets that sells bigger items such as appliances and TV’s you can get for cheap. Also, they sell their private label appliances made on the same factory as brand name and it’s called Insignia and that will be a lot cheaper as well.

Search FB Marketplace and your local FB pages. I agree with others, don't worry about matching for now.

I have a set you can have. If you happen to be in the Boston area.
