I think I mentioned it before, bit if not here it goes. I have a HUGE travel addiction. Which is mostly what caused us to go into debt in the 1st place. I've been budgeting now for almost 8 months and boy has my mind changed set on a lot of things. I just cant justify giving up on what I like to do. As if traveling isn't a big enough cash spending addiction, I'm also a Disney lunatic. We have everything from the Annual pass to the Vacation club membership. We used to go to Disneyland at least once a month. Now I haven't been since November, (which is a big deal in my house) My husband says I should cut down on our trips and that we can still go at least 2x a year. He says instead of paying my pass we could save it up and do a family vacation with that money instead. It seems like a really great idea right? It just makes me feel sad to have to stop doing things I enjoy with our daughter. Sorry for the long rant/post. I know others have bigger issues than I do, it's just I have no one else to talk to about "my problems"

Try to reframe your thinking of saving money now and paying off debt so you can do things with and for your daughter without going into debt later in life. Your daughter will learn from your spending habits. It might make those trips more special & meaningful to your daughter ❤️

We only travel once a year to other country we want to visit. We save money for that travel. We kinda over budget sometimes

Also, you might find other things that your daughter loves that doesn’t cost a ton of money. Like going to a bookstore and spending some time reading. Or having a picnic in the park. Going to the community pool. Going camping. Disneyland is amazing but you can create great memories every day and don’t have to spend a fortune to do so.

I’m there with you. Huge Disney freak here. We have dreams to go to all the parks. I’m starting with taking this entire year off and not going again until November 2021. That way I can save a little at a time and still tackle my other goals. I like to watch YouTubes of Disney peeps to help the time pass. Definitely not as good as being in the parks, but I still feel somewhat satisfied after watching haha. Sending love and pixie dust! This will all be worth it someday!

Become a travel agent and then you can save money on your travels. It’s what I did!

I’m with you on the travel addiction @borkowski I’ve been to 48 countries so far. However I haven’t gone into debt over it, but it would be always what I’m saving for. I hate winter and spent the last 2 out 3 winters in Asia. I now haven’t been anywhere in almost a year. I have plans to go to Europe in May but now who knows? I’ve come to the conclusion I’m going to have to travel like most people now and only go for 2 weeks, not 4 months. One thing that I did twice was I moved abroad and worked, It helped fund my travels. I moved to London and Sydney. It’s just in moderation now.

Try finding cost free or low cost activities. Especially outside. Beaches, parks, hiking etc

I have never been to Disneyland and can't afford to travel, ever. I feel trapped, and anything fun or important or interesting I would like to do, I have to save for it for months, like at least 8 months. It's so disheartening. I would say dotn let your enjoyment go away, but maybe sacrifice a little bit of it if other goals are also important to you? Only God knows. But we're in this together.

Remember that “for now” doesn’t mean “forever”. If you love it that much, reach your financial goals and find a way to incorporate it back into your life. Maybe not as often, and make sure that you make each time special. Take in your own food if you can and find ways to save that still allow you to enjoy your time there. Make it a special occasion place and not a once a month place.

Think about how good it would feel to be able to pay for the trip in cash before you take it and not go into more debt maybe that will help
