I am just really starting and I do feel a bit overwhelmed. I hope you keep pushing forward. One thing to keep in mind is that you are completely changing how you approach your financials. You have been managing a certain way for a long time. If you're anything like me, you are trying to go all in, all at once. I never ever pace myself. One thing that I am doing to start is just get used to using the system, not to set any extravagant goals. Understand what I am spending and figuring out where I can make the specific cuts I need and start there. Before I would set unrealistic goals and then be mad that I'm not doing what I expected. In this case go in saying I'm going to save $500/month and pay $500/month extra toward debt would be unrealistic. I'm not setting any of those goals until I get used to tracking daily, using my envelopes and getting myself and my spending under control. At least that's what I'm telling myself right now. we will see how well I do. I just know it's a process and I know that you will get the hang of it. so many people have had so much success however, everyone's situations are different and timeframes and scenarios are different. I've also heard Miko say that they can fluctuate month to month and not to be to hard on yourself. Part of why we do all the budgets and tracking is to be able to see where we are spending and not spending and adjust everything accordingly. Sending you a big virtual hug. You got this!
