Okay we have the system figured out- but having a debate on one thing. We have a paycheck every week- mine and his paydays work out great. BUT- how much do you guys recommend each person gets monthly for their “spending” money? We’re doing a certain amount of cash for eating, fuel, whatever else- and not using our cards.

I take $50 a month because I work from home and honestly the things I most often get (Starbucks for example) I budget for. My husband does $50 a week - he uses this for random food he didn’t pack, coffee, papers, lotto tickets () taking his crew to lunch, random stupid tools & he stashes it for my gifts since I know what goes in an out of the account. This way if he wants to buy something he can and I can actually remain surprised

We do $50 “fun money” every check for each. So turns out to $100 a person a month.

I guess It all depends on what you can afford to pay yourselves after bills, savings, debt. Make It make sense for your goals, right? If you need to focus on debt then dont fund the non essential spending. Gas is essential! Eating out is not.

We used to do a percentage (2%) of the take home paycheque. Now we don’t.

Husband gets 100 a month mainly for food/snacks. This is so he can stick to taking breakfast & lunch without getting burnt out. He doesnt deal with gas or grocery shopping so this works for us. I stay home so I dont get special me money. I may get a coffee out once a month but take that from the food budget.

He gets $125/week and I get 80/ week. This is for gas, lunches out, coffee. In his case, beer and cigarettes come out of his, too ‍♀️

We each get $50/wk personal money. I rarely use mine, and end up saving it for fun things when I go to visit my daughter out of state. My husband buys his lunch every day at work.

Everyone’s situation is going to vary, but we do $50 each per paycheck. Which comes out to $100 each for the month for us.

I get about $200 and my husband gets $400. He tends to splurge more than I do and tbh most of my $200 goes towards food. Once I pay off my card again, it’ll be $300 a month for me and once my husband gets his disability from the VA in order, depending on how much he gets, he won’t be getting anything out of our paychecks and instead keep the entirety of his disability check as his personal money

My husband and I are doing $250 each per month. We are debt free, and this still leaves us about $1, 000 per month to go into savings.

My husband and I get paid the same way. We do $20 per check for “personal” spending, only if everything is paid and fridge/pantry/gas/sinking and savings are funded. It has to be a personal choice one you are on with otherwise you’ll end up spending from somewhere else.
