I need some advice.  if not allowed, I understand.I need some advice. if not allowed, I understand. I have this trip planned for March 13-19, a girls trip (3 of us) to London. I cash flowed my portion and am so proud of that, nothing on Credit Cards! A friend (also going) gifted some of the cost with her airline miles. With the current coronavirus, two of us are a little nervous. I’m not terribly worried about getting it, but in the event there are travel bans that come up while in the U. K. and what the mar would meet financially if quarantined there or if we would have to be when we come home (loss of wages, etc. ) So far one friend is out, one wants to go and I’m on the fence. I would be out about $700 if I don’t go. I just don’t know what to do. any thoughts? Thank you all, this group has been so fantastic!

I am in the UK and at the moment there are no restrictions and people are advised to self quarentine if they have been exposed. I am not sure how strict the US are about getting back in. But in the UK it is business as usual at the moment. I am in a similar situation I am leaving on the 13th to go to Nepal.

There has only been 37 cases confirmed in the UK so far so the chances of catching it is very slim. I'm from Scotland and there has only been 3 cases so far. I've travelled to London a few times in the last month and will be going again for work another twice before the end of March. Your probably more likely to get run over by a bus than catch it. Go on your trip you'll love it in London dont let it spoil your time way!

Go, live your life. You would regret not going after saving the way you did!

I just flew (domestically in US) but I did take antibacterial wipes and wiped down where I was sitting (seat, arms, tray table, call light, and air vent) basically anything that I would touch that wasn’t mine. It made me feel better

NPR’s life kit podcast just came out with a great Coronavirus 101 episode that is filled with a ton of great advice on how to deal with everything (including any upcoming travel plans) I highly recommend it! I think the entire episode is like 20 min long too, so it’s not too much to take in.

Honestly I wouldn’t be too concerned about the virus itself. what I would be concerned about is that some airports will be implementing mandatory quarantine after a trip overseas (example, NY is quarantinining passengers from Paris when they get off their flights)

Shandra, yes! Thank you! That is exactly what I am worried about. Having to be quarantined for somewhere for 1 to 3 weeks would financially likely break me.
