I am having the hardest time saying no to Starbucks. It comes out of my fun budget, but it’s a good chunk of it. I’m a flight attendant , so the crazy hours sometimes REQUIRE coffee. Has anyone else been so obsessed they considered getting a JOB at Starbucks? I’m seriously considering part-time .

That’s how I am with Culver’s Cranberry Bacon Blue salad!  That’s a tough one, with your career I can understand that; coffee is my life line now!

I’m a FA too, and I’ve started drinking tea for caffeine. That way I can just get hot water and save $$

Yep  my husband looked at our checking account and was like whoa  he said I needed to cut it back to $10 a week and then bet me I couldn’t. I love a good challenge so I’ve gone under my $10 every week since lol.

@stratify I just have to stay away. I always have good intentions until my mouth opens up, and blows them at the register.

It’s also saving me considerable calories  like seriously. I always get a grande, triple, extra hot WM when I go. I’m ashamed to say how much sugar is in one of those

That would be so tough being a flight attendant and it’s RIGHT THERE in the airports. I got an espresso machine to battle my coffee budget. I challenged myself in October to only have it at home and it saved me so much money! Could you challenge yourself? Like only on even numbered days you get to have it? Or only drink tea or drop coffee from there because it’s a lot cheaper?

Starbucks is more then coffee. You’re paying for the experience and the service and the great freaking coffee. It’s up to you how worth it that is.

I cut it out for a month, I missed it like a fat kid misses donuts. It's now part of my budget but I did cutback.

I worked at Starbucks for 8 years while I was in college and grad school. Honestly, I loved it! And you get free drinks when you work, a free pastry/sandwich, and a free bag of coffee or kcups each week plus a discount when you aren't working. When I was there, you had to work at least 12 hours but at 20 you got full benefits (that were actually pretty good). Not saying you would need health benefits but you could use the side money for your coffee and do their 401K match too. I'd go back if I had the time.

@stratify It wasn't perfect but for me, it was a pretty great job. And if you don't love it, you got coffee for free for a while lol

@stratify the good thing is you are probably used to working early mornings or late evenings. I always opened meaning I got there at 330A. Not a ton of people want to do that but it was perfect for me because I was off by 9 and could head to class. I never worked nights or Sundays and they didn't care.

I considered working for them part time. Never actually did because my regular work schedule got too crazy.

Consider trying other coffee shops. We got a new one in town and it is better than Starbucks, half the price and the employees are much nicer. I haven't been back to Starbucks. :)

@cardon Aldridge interesting. Most local coffee shops I go to in Denver are more expensive than Starbucks. I agree that they can be better tasting! Though some of them are really rude while others are super helpful and nice.

@izard I guess I got really lucky. We had a 151 Coffee open up and the staff is mostly college age girls. Very sweet. They even made my daughter a special smoothie when she had a rough day at school. They are really thoughtful and I think the coffee is 10 times better. I don't think they are a big chain though. They just have a few locations in texas.

I regularly do an Americano in the afternoon. no flavors just the stevia sweetener, so it keeps me at 3. 50 (ish). And I take advantage of the apps STARS benefits so on occasion, I earn a free one

I usually do coffee at home but I have a Starbucks on my work campus so the struggle is real sometimes  My coffee is 2. 88 though.

I love Starbucks but I have cut back significantly. My advice since you travel for work and need coffee is to try and get the cheaper options at Starbucks most of the time and treat yourself to the fancier/more expensive options once in a while. Check out Pinterest for ideas on ordering cheaper drinks like an americano with steamed milk which is cheaper than a latte.

I have a full time job in accounting and got a part-time job at Starbucks for fun and extra money! And I wanted to keep my Spotify premium membership without having to pay for it
