Okay so I haven’t done the envelope system since I was a server and only making cash tips. How do you guys split the cash up when you have bills with odd numbers? For example: my bank only gives 50’s 20’s & 100’s but I have a car payment that is $294. 03 how do you add to the envelope like that? I work 8-5 and by the time I get to the bank the only thing open is the ATM. Am I thinking too much into this? Please help! Also do you guys make multiple trips to the bank to deposit the cash to pay the bills when they are due or do you do it in one lump some? I’m just so lost!

I would just round up to 300 and pay that towards the car payment however I don’t do cash envelopes for bills they are paid online mostly and just use envelopes for the variable spending like groceries and eating out

I would just round it up and pay $300. I use a cashless system, but find it much nicer to budget with even numbers.

I don’t pay my car payment with cash. It stays in the bank. As an all cash spender. The only cash I’m taking out are variable spending (groceries, misc, food, fun) and sinking funds). My bills stay in my account.

As a server I lumped my tips into weekly deposits and paid bills that way. Example: tips from 3-5 shifts would go in the same time as my hourly pay. I was not following TBM then but I would hold all my cash until Tuesday (my payday) then deposit pay all bills for that week then survive of what was left. If I had been following TBM I would have done the same except I would have budgeted better for the short weeks instead of splurging.

Round up to the nearest dollar. So 295 or 300. Those cents add up?!

You can always go to the customer service desk of the grocery store and trade in bills. I have had to do that before.

Don’t pull bill money out. Cash envelopes are for variable spending like groceries, gas, household, etc. pay you less bills online.

Things I’ve done so far to better our lives since finding TBM last month: •switched amazon prime to prime student- (WONT cancel because being overseas.Amazon is a lifesaver) •bought reusable ziplocks-no more plastic ziplock bags •started using the diva cup instead of tampons •canceled subscriptions (bark box, chegg, grammerly, HBO, Starz and many more) •informed my family I WILL NOT be doing holidays or birthdays this year, in effort to pay off ALL debt and save for a trip that was already planned •got serious about couponing and buying local produce (which is cheaper than commissary) •cut utility costs by not running water for to long and turning off (&unplugging) when not in a room •bought eco friendly plates, no more plastic or glass (my gf tends to...
