If it’s only been in the freezer since the beginning of lock down, you’ve got plenty of time to use it. If you don’t meal plan, I’d suggest giving it a try and plan meals to use up the meat you have. You could also thaw and do up some casseroles or other quick meals for the freezer

We've eaten meat frozen up to a year but it does tend to get a little freezer burnt tasting. Lol! Six months is as long as I like to go.

All our “big” cut meats (steaks, roast, and chicken, etc) 9 months - year. ground beef generally 6 months of less.

Offer to share with your friends and neighbors who may be having a hard time finding meat. You could ask them to pay you what you bought it for. Or less of your feeling generous.

If it’s properly packaged (vacuum sealed), 6 months in a regular freezer, a year in deep freeze. Ground beef depends on if it has freezer burn or not for me. Freeze ground meets flattened out, space saving and quicker to thaw. Can also prep a few cuts for drop and go crock pot meals, or if you cook some up for tacos or cook a stew and freeze, it’s a little easier to use it up without it losing flavor

If properly packaged, a long time in a deep freeze! In a fridge/freezer. probably only 6 months.

6 months easy, I’ve had stuff for a year. Even if it has a bit of freezer but I’ll use it in a soup or stew. less noticeable.

So THAT’S why I couldn’t find any chicken for 3 weeks into lockdown  It will keep in the freezer for 6 months or more. Maybe consider sharing it with others, who are struggling right now.

If I know that my boyfriend and I aren't going to eat it right away we vacuum seal, otherwise a year or so. Sometimes I mark on the package when it was purchase month/year so as I'm shopping around in my freezer for meals I know what to use up first. A freezer inventory list helps too.

Usually 6 months for ground beef or chicken and bigger cuts usually 9 months if not vacuum sealed.

We use ours for years lol, it wont hurt you. If it gets a bit icy then I make it using my instant pot so it gets more moisture with it :)

6 months if in original store wrapping; a year or more if vacuum sealed.
