Hello!  I recently posted about having a lease that is way over mileage and the lease is at the end of its term!Hello! I recently posted about having a lease that is way over mileage and the lease is at the end of its term! My husband and I had a rough year/year in a half but are slowly building and moving forward! We are at stand still in regards to this car because his credit took a hit when he was unemployed for nearly a year! The lease is under his name and he is afraid to get his credit checked and extremely embarrassed of the situation we are in! My credit took a hit but it’s in 640 zone and slowly building! The car buy out is around 27k, blue book says 21 at the highest, over mileage is approximately 6k if I turn it in, or can see if we can get another vehicle (finance since mileage is now the issue after moving) only and only if the new dealer says they will take the Buick and nothing out of our pocket for the mileage, etc! ( my husband did that with one of his cars in the past, new car dealer took his lease with still 2yrs remaining and he didn’t have to pay anything for breaking lease but aren’t sure if that can still happen). If I turn it in and pay over mileage I wouldn’t get a car till around summer time or so but is that best financially!?! We are so confused and really hard on ourselves because of the past and mismanaged choices! Sorry for long post! No judgements we are trying! Kids are feed, clean clothes on their backs and roof over their heads. we can only build up from here and not repeat our past poor choices! Thanks

Be careful when a dealer says that they can take the car back early. I’ve worked in dealers my whole adult life and did the bookkeeping . What normally happens in that situation is they roll the remaining payments into the back end of the deal so it looks like they hooked u up when instead you’re just paying the remaining payments in your new payments. The earliest I’ve seen a manufacturer get someone out of a lease early without having to do that is 6 months.

@bienne535 understand. That one time it worked out but I’m sure it won’t fly now.

@servile yeah just make sure you go over alllllllllllll of the paperwork before signing anything. There are ways to get over mileage handled if you lease from the same company but there are a lot of variables so just make sure you go over all of your options

@bienne535 thank you! I’m so confused on what to do at this point! I want to make the most financially sound choice but feeling stuck! On this car when we called for pay out they gave us one amount and on our paper work it says something else
