My fiancé and I are currently renting an apartment. We can hear literally EVERYTHING (our neighbors snoring, convos, puking at midnight, you name it ). We want an actual home, not apartment, and a fenced in yard for our dog. Our lease is up March 31st. Here are our options. •Break the lease. We would only have to pay next month’s rent which is $720. •If we break the lease, we still have to put a down deposit on a rental home. •So that means $720 + whatever the deposit is UP FRONT. •Rent homes in our area go FAST! So we would really like to jump on a rent home when one is available. •We have the funds available for this. •Our apartment complex is asking for a 30 day notice for when we do decide to move out. So at the latest, March 1st. Advice y’all?! Thank you ❤️

Find a home you want to rent and then worry about breaking your lease. If homes go as quick as you say, there is going to be very little overlap.

I’d be looking for a home before giving the notice. Once you find one you like then address breaking the lease. Or see if you can time the move so it’s less out of pocket.

I would honestly stick it out for 2 more months to save that much money.

I would give notice to vacate on March 31. You have to pay that month anyway so why give them the keys before you have to. Take your time moving. I've moved many times and you will be in the same situation if you wait or you don't. Send like you have to finish paying out your lease anyway. If you don't give notice to vacate you will have to pay April also. Most places require 30 days notice even if you are out when lease is up. I've been moving every few years for the Last 19 thanks to the military.

Let me explain. The date is Feb 3 you should have already paid rent for February. They said you have to pay 750 to move. That's March rent. You still have to give 30 day notice. Give it tomorrow that means March 4 you have to be out. but you paid full price for March. So give the notice of March 31. You paying for it either way.

@poore great idea! Then you can take time to get settled and you won’t feel rushed.
