I was just gifted two rings from my mom. One is my grandmother’s engagement ring, the other is my great grandmother’s ring. My mom has two stones from the engagement ring in her own engagement ring. I want to pull two stones from my great grandmother’s ring to replace the stones my mom has and then put each generation’s birthstone in to my great grandmother’s ring. Does this make sense? The reason I’m posting this here is because I have no clue where to go with this. Can any jeweler help me with this? Anything I should be aware of? Is this going to cost more than a brand new engagement ring? I’ve never done something like this and feel so lost. I want to honor my grandmother, who passed away when my mom was a teenager, as well as my great grandmother, but I’m not sure it’s feasible. Any insights, ideas and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
