I think it is because she tracks every cash purchase on her tracker so if she subtracted the cash she withdraws and the purchases she makes with the cash she would be double deducting the same money.

That sounds like exactly right.

I’ll be honest I don’t understand that either. So what I do is I show a withdrawal from my checking and show a deposit on my cash. This way I can always have a running total and also keeps me in check with cash. Sometimes I am higher in my running total than I have in my wallet. I follow the credit/debit. Moving money from one spot to another. Hope that helps

She tracks cash on another sheet so she doesn’t want to count it twice. If your doing it all on one you would count ut

She doesn’t track cash because she tracks it on another sheet.

I know this does not answer your posted question but are you aware that . 57 did not get brought down after posting the $401 deposit? It makes the ending balance off by $2. 43.

The money for your cash envelopes is tracked definitely so that you aren’t double tracking it.

She still subtracts the amount of cash she took out from her account balance - she crosses it out as a note to herself not to count that as an expense. Then she tracks all her cash spending on a separate sheet.

Because you only Track money you spend not money you move around. In that case you are moving from checking account to envelopes
