If you only had enough money for a washer O@aldrin a dryer, which one would you get first until you managed to save up for the other one? lol Would you rather wash clothes in the tub and then be able to dry them, or would you rather wash them in a washer and then hang them to dry? I am so torn because I don't like how clothes dried on a line feel (so stiff), but I also don't like the idea of washing taking SO MUCH LONGE@aldrin to wash in a tub or whatever lmao. What would you get first? Have you had to do this before? Also would you suggest trying to get them both financed to build credit? Our credit isn't the best right now, but we are looking for ways to actually build it now that we have become more responsible money wise. <3

Washer first. I used to have neither and had to wash in the tub and it was awful. When I got my washer, I was able to wash all my clothes and hang them to dry. It took a while but my clothes lasted longer anyway because I wasn’t ruining them with the dryer. Also scratch and dent stores are amazing for washers and dryers. I would check there first.

Washer first. Your back will thank you. I've been through this before and would gladly hang clothes before bending over a tub again!

Washer and hang to dry - extra dry spin on the washer lol

Also, you can check for 'scratch and dent' sales and save on both.

I’d get a washer and use Downey or another fabric softener option to help with the stiffness

If you have a "buy nothing" group in your area, you may find someone giving them away because they're buying new. Just add an Looking for post. People in our area sell older sets for $50-100/each used.

Buy both used. I do this all the time and I am way further ahead. My one rental has one washer that hit 16 years for $150

We bought our washer dryer combo used for $100. (Our washer went but our old dryer is still going strong, so we have one dryer in the corner of our laundry room being used as a table now, lol)

A washing machine 100% as you can always steam clothes as you wear them if it’s that bothersome to you, although I know it seems a bit much.

Hang dry! Grab each item while half dry and *snap* it to keep it from stiffening and replace!

Washer. We have a collapsible drying rack and we use it more than the dryer. Also, look into like appliance outlets which will have discounted new appliances. or fb marketplace for a good set of used appliances that could last you until you really had enough money to make a much larger investment.

Washer, but I’d also look on marketplace and look for a deal! We just bought a like new set from someone that was moving and ran out of room on their moving truck. We got them both for $150 because they were in a hurry. You never know what you might be able to find.

Dryer. I would definitely get the dryer first. even if you didnt want to handwash them you could run to a laundry mat & wash them fairly cheap. but drying them costs more bc it takes longer.

Washer! You can hang dry until you can buy a dryer!

I’d get the washer, it’s much easier than hand washing. It’s also cheaper to dry clothes at a laundry mat than to wash them.

Washer, we have a washer and dryer upstairs. Then we have another older washer downstairs for overflow or hunting stuff and we have line across our (hunting room I call it) to hang that stuff up to dry.

If you’re finding them stiff, try buying a cheap indoor drying rack to hang on. At least for clothes, they shouldn’t dry as stiff

Washer and take the clothes to the laundromat. Dryers are only $1 a load around me. Washers are $3+. Plus the dryers are huge and can handle lots of clothes.

Can you maybe find a used pair or a scratch and dent set? My first washer and dryer were a refurbished set that my husband and I got for $125. Honestly, they lasted for a really long time.

Washer. but just out of curiosity have you looked into a rent-a-center? Not sure if it would fall into your budget but it doesn't hurt to look into.
