Question

I’m about to deep clean my kitchen, I want to take the metal cupboard handles off to clean them. Is there anything I can add to a bucket of water to let them steep for a while?

Would washing up liquid work x

Just soapy water.

Then just leave for overnight?

Hot soapy water overnight, or any disinfectant such as Zoflora & Hot water etc. use an old nailbrush to give a good scrub and they'll come up lush!

@keller I’m going to take them off after tea tonight and leave them overnight before tackling them in the morning. I’ll probably be bothered to do the kitchen then too

Spray them. with elbow grease first wash them in warm soapy water after. Use a nail scrubber

You’ll literally need elbow grease (product) and a sponge with a scourer, you won’t need to soak them as elbow grease literally removes the muck straight away, by soaking them overnight you run the chance of tarnishing/ruining them

Soda crystals or sugar soap are a brilliant cleaner on grease and grime and is gentle enough to leave them in it , it's like using elbow grease it has sugar soap or soda crystals in it x
