I have some lined curtains i purchased from Dunelm. Do i have to dry clean or can i put in washing machine? My other thought was a floor steamer with carpet attachment?

All my curtains are from next that say dry clean. I put mine on a 30° quick wash. And line dry and iron them x

If they are dry clean only don't wash them because they might shrink

I washed my dunelm ones that said I could on a delicate wash so followed instructions and the shrank about 4 inches so I would advise not washing even if they state you can

@propositus can i ask were your dunelm curtains really stiff?
by (450 points)
No not really but as soon as I put any water or cleaning products on them ( for spot cleaning) they went quite stiff where the water or products touched them

@propositus pants. I may as well stick cardboard to the windows now by that theory

Isn’t there a care label on them somewhere?
by (630 points)
@albertoalberts5496 yes it says dry clean only
by (4.8k points)
@cyrenaic then I would stick with that unless you want to usie them as a face mask

I have recently washed a pair that where supposed to be dry clean only & they turned out fine. I must say though I have a cycle on my washing machine called “curtains” so probs why they were fine

If they lined be careful as sometimes the curtain shrinks but the lining doesn’t

@woods6109 my mum said that!

Delicate wash but in time the lining will drop. You could hand wash depending how big they are. I do a delicate wash as you can't see the lining. Depends how fussy you are. It doesn't happen straight away. Wash rarely
