Long story short next door neighbour (elderly) had a fall and was found a few days later. Bless them they had soiled their self. Now a "professional" company has been and clean the carpet only. I'm going to go and finish off the bits they missed. But 2 questions. 1 the smell is unreal so whats best to use for cleaning and 2 the carpet has been cleaned but its stained as took them over a week to organise the cleaner, any tips on getting the stain out? No family close enough to help or do it and dont want it left for the poor soul to come out of hospital too of I can.

Peroxide, vinegar and baking soda. Takes my dog stains out completely Pour the peroxide on the carpet. Cover it with baking soda. Let it absorb then add vinegar. Let it dry and vacuum. Repeat if the stain doesnt come out all the way. Let me know if it works!

Apparently bicarbonate of soda is good to neutralise odours if it is sprinkled around the carpet. The stain is going to be a tough one if an industrial carpet cleaner hasn't removed it but I'm sure someone will have an idea on here. I hope your poor neighbour recovers and gets home soon.

We used Gumption on permanent marker on our carpet from our son. The carpet cleaner said it was impossible to remove but we tried gumption and it took it all out

If a professional cleaner can’t get the stain out, I doubt you will. Good Luck.

Put a tonne of bicarb on it and leave at least 24hrs. Hoover up what you can then use bicarb and white vinegar on any remaining stain as also neutralises smell
