Has anybody ever been to los Asadas Mexican Grill? I keep trying to find a really good Mexican restaurant only to be either disappointed or underwhelmed every time.

There are two different los asadas afaik, one on Elmhurst and Oakton and the other near river and rand. I’ve heard mixed things about both

I like Mexico Restaurant on Lee street; the posole is very good, their enchiladas suizas verdes are my favorite.
by (4.2k points)
I used to like them. Something has changed as the food isn’t as good. I also know a coup people who have recently gotten sick from their food
by (6.1k points)
I got a large soup and regular burrito to go and was charged $20. Now I get my soup from KD market
by (2.4k points)
@mismanage Okay? I think their prices are very fair for what you get. To each their own.
by (6.1k points)
The menu they gave me showed regular burritos at $6. 50 and the soup at $10. 25. no way it should of been $20 and some change with sales tax. Then my hubs asked me where I got it and I asked him if he liked the burrito and he told me it hardly had any meat. I checked Yelp and sure enough others had said the same thing.

I moved here from San Diego I tried few Mexican restaurants but I never liked any of their foods so I gave up. they don’t even know what’s in shrimp burrito.  I can only eat my shrimp burrito when I go back home to San Diego.

Gee Cee i’m sorry that you had to move HERE from SAN DIEGO. That truly sounds awful.

Best Mexican food is Taqueria El Gallo De Oro at Algonquin/Lee, or Tamales Oaxaqueños at Elmhurst/Oakton. Trust me. You won’t find better than these two.

I like Taco Village at river and rand just be careful with the surrounding road construction
by (650 points)
I agree! Try steak fajitas, the best. Owner is super nice and can really use the business since this construction has had a major impact to the point they may have to close. Give them a try!

We use to love Arandas until mid day roach walked across the wall. We have tried, Marichis - good, El Dorado was better when they first opened, taco village good but our all time favorite is El Gallo. Always busy and people don't go there for the ambiance. LOL It is in the stripmall next to nail salon and insurance place that is opening on Lee and Algonquin.

@landes I think I know the place you are talking about. Is it inside a Mexican grocery store? Where they also sell their taco meat by the pound as well as just tacos right? I had forgotten about that place, it was also very good.
by (3k points)
@mismanage actually no. there is a strip mall right next to it, primarily Mexican influence. I think it is called LaPresa.

Mexico restaurant in downtown Des Plaines is fantastic. Sit down but not even a little fancy. Might be able to order out too.
