Hi, I want to learn to crochet. Where can I buy a cheap yarn to learn on? I just want something that I can work with, take apart and start over again. Also, do you recommend any YouTube videos? Lastly, what size crochet hook should I start with? Thank you!

I really like Michaels. You can use coupons too. I’m learning as well and really enjoy Melanie Ham and The Crochet Crowd on Youtube. Happy crocheting!

I get mine at Joann’s. There are sales all the time. Especially if you sign up for the text coupons. reate more in less time in my opinion. The yarn you choose will recommend a crochet hook size. Choose some yarn that’s not too thin and not too thick, it will be the easiest to learn on.

Ravelry. com but I love the patterns I’ve bought off of Etsy. I use YouTube a lot when I need the visual instead of my mom explaining over the phone. I had a set of Boye hooks, but the clover ones my mom got me for Christmas are fantastic (amazon have a good price for these).

Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn. Red Heart Soft. Joanns and Michaels always have coupons. Anything that has a weight of “4” on the label. Start with a 5 or 5. 5mm hook but do yourself a favor and get Clover brand amour hooks off amazon . they’re a few dol  Good luck!

My recommendation would be to get regular worsted weight yarn (the skiens are numbered so look for a ‘5’). I’d recommend a single color to start so you can see your stitches well and get a feel for what a stitch looks like. Go for a synthetic yarn. I’d

I like “The Crochet Crowd” videos on YouTube. There are a lot of beginner videos on there. That’s where I learned how to make baby blankets.
