For those of you that were out of work for an extended period of time, do you make mention of it on your resume or do you ignore it? Also, I've been (mostly) a sahm for the past 5 years, but I have taken classes on and off through that time and have done some gig economy work, plus worked very part time (paid cash under the table) for a private practitioner doing some light billing and office work. Is that something to make mention of? Edited to add: The bulk of my previous work experience was medical office work (front desk/registration duties, plus medical assistant duties) and the side hustles I have done are for jobs like instacart/doordash, etc if that helps.

If you did a set genre of work during a certain period (ie the last two years you did gig work in xyz), you are best placed to list yourself as self employed and treat it like a job. It's a good way to fill those gaps!

@jake3201 no problem! I'll see if I can screenshot you my section from being self employed so you can see how I filled it in to look more adequate for job hunting

Look up women with money, they just covered this. ESP sahm come with a lot of great talents!
