Yes! I had this done to me when I had the flu in Feb and it helped a lot. I was sitting up though and other videos I’ve seen always had the person sitting or standing.

I do this to my kids whenever they have a really bad cough and cannot get that mucus out. Even if they’re just sitting down next to me. I do the cupping with my hands and tap around their back. Its a very good way to get the mucus out and fever off within several a day or two.

I recently felt pretty congested with mucus that wouldn’t come out, and I saw a video with a very similar technique but the person was standing slightly bent over. My husband did the back pats to me twice over a 12-hour period and I felt so much better! Definitely can’t hurt to keep things moving.
