Anyone here suffer from Vertigo? I had my first episode starting Thursday and was really bad Saturday. I feel better but still dizzy when up and walking around. I did the epley maneuver but no immediate relief just feeling slightly better each day. Anything other suggestions? My husband goes back to work tomorrow so there goes my helper haha.

I get it mildly every Spring. My doctor’s advice sounds silly but it has always worked for me. sit on the bed and literally fall fairly hard to the side so your head hits the mattress. Like I said, mine is seasonal and fairly mild but it works!

I suffered from vertigo for many years. I've been on medication, was told to take motion sickness pills, get sea sick bands none worked. At times I have to take medication to help me from throwing up. I used oils and it helped. The one thing that helps me the most is a Menthol nose inhaler (vicks) but I have a special brand that I use. Message me if you'd like to try it. Meditation, deep breathes and walks have also helped me. My vertigo is caused due too stress.

Several years ago, I suffered with it for off and on for about 6 months. There are different types of vertigo so you really need to talk to your doctor. If it's like the kind I had, I did a certain exercise once or twice a day when it would hit me and it helped a lot. Medicine is only for long term cases. My doctor told me it's common for women over 40 to get it (not sure how old you are, just conveying his words)

Doctor can give a prescription for it. I had it really bad, and had to go to physical therapy for it

I have it too. My doctor gave me prescription for it. Had it real bad too. I still feel it if I go down and up to fast.

@newfashioned0 did they prescribe meclizine? I already have that in guess I was hoping there would be an automatic cure haha I try the epley maneuver and another one but still dizzy when standing up

My husband was told to take Sudafed and that helps him. Also if you get dizzy just from Standing up it could be your blood pressure dropping. I have orthosratic hypotension and when I stand up I have to be careful to stand slowly because I get dizzy from my blood pressure dropping

Do you suffer from seasonal allergies? Try an allergy pill and see if that clears it up. Otherwise give an Ear, nose and throat specialist a call. Are you staying hydrated? How much caffeine do you drink? Lots of factors to look into.

Hi Mercede, I'm a physical therapist and specialize in patient's with dizziness/vertigo/concussions. I'd be happy to talk with you over the phone or do a telehealth session to see if I can help in anyway. There are various reasons for dizziness, the most common is vertigo due to inner ear crystals being dislodged. However, it can be related to many other things. I will send you a private message, feel free to reply there or give me a call. I own my own practice and the phone number can be called or texted directly to me. I had it in my 20’s . And I learned that the nerves in the back of your neck need to be very cold to stop the vertigo . I learned to lie flat on my stomach supine position and put ice packs from the tail bone to the head - takes 20 minutes exactly to stop the vertigo . Need to do it at the beginning of the symptoms . The nerves can’t transmit the signals being so cold .

Omg. I had it bad for 2 weeks in my early 30th. I thought I was having a stroke. with no balance. I was so scared. It lingered for 2 weeks. I couldn't even turn my head on the pillow without the dizziness and nausea
by (1.8k points)
@stempson that's about where I am. I can get up but if I move my head everything spins. I've done the exercise and taken medicines but just hasn't gone away yet
by (4.6k points)
@cornhusking mine turned out to be an inner ear infection which is one that they can't diagnose it's when they rule everything out, cuz I even have some of those neurological testing done at the ENT. And it's terrible every time I had to go to the doctor my husband had hold my hand cuz I was walking sideways but it will go away so don't be nervous

@stempson thank you!

It might help to reduce your salt intake. Google "dizziness and salt intake".
