Families with no backyard, what are you guys doing to keep the kids active outside? We live right next door to Central Park but most of the time there is heavy foot traffic therefore not so much of the whole social distancing thing happening there. We already do walks and scooter rides.

We have a yard, but as a nice change of scenery we like to go to big Open Spaces sometimes by Iroquois in between the park district building and Iroquois there's big open spaces there to play soccer for do running exercises. There is also the fields by Maine West they have Hills that you can run up and down and just nice open space to run around or throw a football.

Following, i live next to Central Park as well. We usually walk (my daughter rides her bike) around the neighborhood or drive to Forest Preserve and walk there.

We drive to the forest preserves and walk there. We either ride bikes or take the stroller and then take mini adventures off the path so they can explore

You could typically fly a kite or run free around Tomahawk Park. It’s usually not very busy but there’s no playground to get in your way of open space to run.

All the parks (not swing set type), Prarie lakes and forest preserves are open

To be honest we don't get out much and it sucks. I'm working home so I can't really get out until after 5 and then add in the crappy weather we've had lately and it hasn't helped much. We're near Graceland and Harding so there's not much around here. We do go for walks around the block and sometimes we'll just let him kick a ball around or throw a ball or do bubbles, but honestly our time outside might last 45 minutes if we're lucky. We're in the process of looking to get him a bike so that might help, but otherwise we suck it up.

We go to the park across from Central school the one with the tulip circle, generally at times others are eating dinner (5:30-7). We play hid and seek, tag, soccer, play capture the flag with frisbees we bring by hiding them in bushes or trees for the kids to race to find. On wet days if it's not freezing we have gone out puddle jumping, the parking lot of the church on Cora and Walnut has some good ones as does the alleyway along Central school. We walk a new direction everyday trying to find places we haven't seen before.
