What are you all planning for summer childcare? I'm worried the park districts won't have camps, but I'll have work!

I think legally your work will have to let you work from home if there is no childcare available.

@jarlen I’ve been furloughed for 6 weeks now. I get to go back next Monday. Just in time for possibly no summer camp . JB’s reopening doesn’t logically address that.

Yeah, it’s tough. I’m not sure how they can run camps with so many restrictions, but we’ll see. There may be some smaller, private childcare options out there. I don’t know, just a thought.

We are going to do part time at AMT when they reopen. Until then, working from home and no childcare. If my company goes back before daycare reopens, I'll still have to stay working from home

I'm far north in DP so I'm tied into the MP park district and they told me that, as of right now, they are planning on having summer camp. If interested, it is at the Weiss Center on Euclid in MP. They have different camps based on age and/or interests. I doubt the pool will be open though as I've heard many public pools are not going to be this summer. I’m going to be screwed. Mine were supposed to go to a camp in Schaumburg. Not sure what is going to happen. Also - my job can’t be done from home.

The statement from last week from the park district made it seem like they will have camps if the state allows them too. I would assume, daily temp checks and masks etc even at camps.

I believe Brentwood Bulldog Summer Camp in Des a Plaines hasn’t been cancelled yet. It’s through the church there. They are near Terrace and Brentwood Elementary.

Just heads up I've already received my refund for Des Plaines first session of Preschool Summer Camp  I was hopeful because the max was 25 kids. Let's see how the rest of summer goes
