Is Target prohibiting kids from entering the store? Mine are 11 and 13. Normally I would leave them home but I need to leave the house with them for awhile and other than driving around I thought maybe there would be a store that would let them in. I’m a single parent.

Don’t leave them in the car. There were shots fired over by Arndt Park (where the sled hill is).

@drain7 What?!? When was this? Was anyone injured? Was this on the news.

@diocese2054 , per the Des Plaines neighborhood watch group there were gun shots fired. Some people thought that they were fire works but the police, supposedly, arrested two guys that were armed. This afternoon the police were at the park and looking for something. This is what I read via people’s posts.

@drain7 Thank you for the info! Were these men in a fight or what?

@diocese2054 , no one said.

Not sure about Target specifically but I went to Walmart with my 12 and 6 year old. Just put a mask on everyone and I believe it’s allowed.

Kids can go in as long as they have masks

Just picked up an order at the Rosemont location and a little girl walked in in front of me (mask required)

Why not leave them in the car? Old enough to be left alone in a car for a little bit.
by (2.6k points)
@wilhoit66 I suppose I could.

@mouth I just think with everything that’s going on in this crazy world your car would be safer than the store.

I would not leave them in the car. Anything can happen. I'm 43 and on Monday I got robbed at a gas station in my car! Not to mention I'm also 9 months pregnant and I had my 5 yr old with me. So I'd beg to differ on the "old enough" statement. There r a lot of evil ppl out there right now. Desperate. Not worth the risk if u ask me.

Omg I’m so sorry that happened to you! How scary!
by (210 points)
@mouth yes super scary. That's why I say don't leave your kids in the car. Desperate ppl out there right now.

Thanks for the warning!

@swastika that is awful! Where were you?
by (210 points)
@pituri I live in TX now. Literally I was at the gas station not even 4 mins. But this can happen anywhere. These trying times are making ppl desperate. They didn't care I was 9 months pregnant & with my 5 yr old. Scariest situation I've ever encountered.

@swastika I agree can happen anywhere but glad it wasn’t down the street  I am SO SORRY this happened to you

Damnnnn that's like taking away all our rights completely if kids were denied to enter. That'd be really sad.

Some stores are 16 and older ! They are getting on the mask thing more and more . I don’t take nobody with me because let’s face it theirs no reason .
by (2.6k points)
@homemaking36648 There’s no reason for you. Everyone has a different situation. I need a few things and I don’t have anyone for them to stay home with. I’m a single parent. Legally you can’t leave kids under 14 home alone.
by (11.6k points)
@mouth that’s for a very lengthy time though just saying .

I think they are old enough to go in with you and to be mindful of what they are doing. I wouldn't take my 4 year old because she would touch everything and never keep the mask on, but your kids are old enough to go with if they have a mask. BTW my 4 year old can't wait to do something besides car rides and walks around the block!

@buran Yes they completely understand social distancing. And they both have masks. Aw, your poor little one. This must be so hard for the younger kids.
by (3.5k points)
@mouth This is hard on everyone and kids especially, they need a little normalcy too. They will follow the rules like everyone else going, I say I hope you all have a great time at Target.

I was at Rosemont Target on Friday with my 8yr old. Single parent here so she comes with me everywhere. Employees were outside monitoring that everyone had a mask on

Target is fine and wlamart and jewel for kids to go as long as thry have mask. I know Tonys is not allowing any kids at all they have big sign outside. Last time i was told to leave right away because i had my 5y with a mask while getting quick groceries. So i hadnto go somewhere else since i have no family to watch my child
