Hi all.  Looking for some inspiration.Hi all. Looking for some inspiration. My daughter is losing her first tooth a bit earlier than I expected - she's 5. I hadn't started thinking about the tooth fairy yet. What do you give your kids from the tooth fairy? Everything online is a bit too Pinterest and involved for what I think I will need to have sorted by tonight. ThanksIA

My son is 5 1/2 and has a loose tooth now, but he knows all about the tooth fairy. I bought a little tooth pillow a while back to use for this occasion and well just put the tooth in the pillow when the time comes. We’ll probably give $10 for first tooth, but scale back after that. Yet to be determined.

My daughters first tooth fell out a little before her 5th bday. I wasn’t ready for it and all I had was a $5. So I left her that with a note from the tooth fairy saying that she should put it in her piggy bank and save up for something special. I plan to give $1 for every other tooth.

First tooth  $20 and consecutive teeth $5-10. Toys/gifts are a good idea too I’m just never prepared enough for that so the $ is always easier!

Don’t overthink it. My son is 12 now. I used to write the tiniest note (handwritten) for him from the tooth fairy, put a bill and sprinkled both with glitter . I rolled them and put a tiny bow on them. I put them inside of a plastic container (the ones from the quarter machine) you can use a plastic Easter egg. Or any other tiny box. This was our tradition for each of his teeth and he loved it. He always knew tooth fairy was not real but he still loved our tradition ‍♂️

Wow, I'm cheap! My kids only got $2 per tooth. They would put their tooth in a Ziploc baggie, put it under their pillow, in the morning the tooth would be gone and replaced with money. Simple. They were happy. Just know that whatever tradition you start, you'll have to keep up the trend for subsequent teeth.

I get fun money like silver dollars, two dollar bills, half dollars. I ask whenever I’m at the bank without kids and keep the money hidden so I’m ready when they lose one.

I did gold dollars for her teeth, 2 so far. After the first 4 front teeth I'm going to switch to half dollars if i can get them.

We did $5 for the 1st tooth because we were unprepared. Each additional tooth has been a gold $1 coin.

$5 each tooth and no toys. Simple and easy to maintain! My daughters teacher gave her a tooth fairy pillow and she loved it so much I started making them for my preschoolers and give them out during dental month in February.

I have a tooth fairy pocket that hangs on her doorknob which is great cuz I dont have to disturb her. I give her $1 per tooth and a note from the tooth fairy. Tiny, tiny handwriting!

$2 per tooth and we just put it in a ziplock so it would be easy to find, then put the dollars in another ziplock for a quick and easy "switch".

@chevron yep! That's exactly what we do!

Take a bill and put some glitter nail polish on it! Let it dry and put under pillow with a cute note.

Welp, it did come out today! Thanks for all the ideas. Unfortunately I can’t wait for the banks on Monday so I guess money it is this time! But great ideas that I can use to prepare for the next tooth (which is already loose) thank you everyone!

My advice (mom of 5 kids) keep it EASY! You don't want to start something that is involved because once you start you can't really change it. You never know how many times you may need to do it at the last min, say your kid comes out at 10 PM saying look what just happened now what do you do if you don't have the specific coins or any cash at all and your child is expecting her to come that night. Once the tooth fairy came to visit our house 7 times in a 2 week period ‍♀️. My kids know the tooth fairy collects the loose coins stuck in the couches of the house she visits each night and that’s how she pays for teeth. This way it never has to be a set amount, just a handful of coins from the bottom of your purse! Don’t worry we spoil them other times when it’s much easier to prepare!

Plus kids have 20 baby teeth so for my crew that means a total of 100. let me say that again. 100 tooth fairy visits.
