I’m seeing SOOOO many people ask how to get their ad account or BM back. In the past couple days I’ve had to answer this question so many times that it’s getting mind numbing at this point so I’d figured I’d make a post so that everyone could benefit. Step 1: Figure our WHY you got banned Ever heard the saying, “don’t be sorry, be different”? Here’s the problem; if you’re so focused on getting your ad account back without understanding WHY you ad account got banned in the first place then you are bound to make the same mistake again (unless your ad account got banned by mistake than that’s different). So filing an appeal without understanding why you got banned and not explaining how things will be different the next time around will do you little to now good. Which brings us to the next step Step 2: File your appeal When doing this you need to do to things: A: Apologize for breaking Facebook’s advertising policies. This kind of sucks, but you need to kiss their butt a little bit and explain to them how sorry you are for breaking advertising policies and how it will never happen again. Explain how you now understand what you did wrong and now know better. B: Make an airtight logical argument as to why you should be allowed to continue advertising on Facebook. Any questions? Drop em down below  Let’s attack the week ladies and gents

Good stuff. Usually robots and auto replies is what you get from FB Support. It would be easier if actual humans are reading the appeal.

@decidua It would, are you having issues with your ad account?

Not exactly. Depends on niche. I had one rep approve, another disable. When back and forth with them for months. Then just disabled my entire account. No response on appeal. From the beginning followed facebook policy EXACTLY. Rep even told me so. Different rep looks at it, boom disabled.

@creator What niche?

@creator you know you need prior approval to run ads for stuff like that, right?
by (260 points)
@stearic13 already got approval. Next rep that saw my account closed it

@creator so what’d you do after that?
by (260 points)
@stearic13 appealed and never heard back
by (4k points)
@creator then what?
by (260 points)
@stearic13 actually I did here back - said they were reinstating it. Never did. I messaged them again and they said they reviewed it again and banned it permanently.

@creator did they tell you why?
by (260 points)
Their system is fucked. Was back and forth for months with different reps. One said everything looked good, next one disable my stuff. Did it again. Happened again. Went in circles
by (260 points)
@stearic13 sure. Didn’t comply with policy, appealed, they said it did comply with policy. Ads ran again just fine. Next rep disabled again.

Right, so did they tell you why you were disabled again and eventually banned?
by (260 points)
@stearic13 against policy. Again, it’s just a different rep every time.
by (260 points)
I followed policy exactly so of course they had no specifics
by (260 points)
Reps told me I followed it right

@creator You do realise that "reps" and the policy team are ring-fenced?
by (260 points)
@summersault ring fenced?
by (850 points)
It means when a rep is telling you that you are following policy, that's their personal opinion (which is often wrong) as opposed to an official statement from Facebook
by (260 points)
@summersault Ok got it. So, I have no idea then. I have look at the policy 100 times and comply basically to every letter of every word as best to my knowledge. I've never been told of any specific violation.

This isn't really helpful unless you can actually get accounts back. Most of us have already been through your steps 1000 times

Sometimes they get shut down for no reason. Sometimes Facebook makes a mistake. Happened to my personal account and my BM. Was totally removed from ability to do anything within Ads Manager. Got it all reinstated twice with a nice form letter saying “sorry, we made a mistake. ”
