FB on the warpath right now in disabling accounts and BM accounts? We have noticed a large amount of FB ad account being disabled over the last few days and some entire BM accounts. Several of our students have reported the same. Anyone else seeing this surge in the last few days? Another cleaning out and folks getting some friendly fire?

Have never had one closed on me in 6 yrs but have literally seen well over 100 posts of people losing their accounts and don't believe they all did anything silly to cause it

@thresathresh Are you actually seeing this with accounts that are completely in line with TOS?
by (580 points)
Seen it on both sides. and isn't the TOS up for pure opinion in many cases? We have seen 100% whitehat accounts get canned We have seen some that had Ads disabled that had been running for over 9 months.

@thresathresh TOS is pretty objective. I have never seen a 100% white hat account get banned. And even then I would strongly suspect that they were unknowingly violating.

I've also noticed this and historically I've been pretty skeptical of people who have accounts that mysteriously get disabled. I had one client, super compliant, get their ad account shut down a couple weeks back but we recovered within 48 hours of disputing thankfully. I've been running ads over six years and that's the first account we had disabled on my teams watch, not going to lie it shook me up a bit.

No. Never had it happen in 5 years, and dont know anyone who has had it happen to them. Except those who have reached TOS.

I had my BM disabled a week ago and still haven't any reply from FB. I'm going to use my backup BM but what precautions should I take? Can I still run ads to the same landing page (it complies with FB TOS), what else do I need to change to ensure my new ad account/BM doesn't get instantly flagged? Thanks in advance :)

@chatterer6 don’t run anything to the same as your banned account. Change domains, credit cards, IP address, preferably a new comp too

From my recent experience it seems like the AI just goes bit mad! Brand new BM account with paused campaign. Immediately closed but knew the ad policies and on appeal with a human reinstated in 5 minutes! Just weird

How about stop doing stuff that goes outside of their standards and policies, and actually play by the rules and you won’t have this issue? I love it how there’s always a “mystery” how people’s BM accounts are shut down. The only mystery is why you chose to fuck with Facebook in the first place

Find some wood to knock on. Seriously.

@thresathresh don’t need to. I advertising according to their standards and policies and have never had an ad account or BM account shut down. And probably never will

Yeah I’ve had my biggest account shut down twice this month & it’s still down. If we can’t get it fixed soon, my client is going to lose investor funding as they’ve been unable to maintain consistent numbers. So that’s 4 people who will lose their full time job if it’s not fixed in time. Bit of a joke tbh.
