It’s a pain in the ass to use. It’s actually decent. I still prefer fb as an ad tool

@niki236 What makes it a pain to use?
by (1.9k points)
@afternoons9525 you can’t combine audiences like in fb or drill deeply.

One of the better ad platforms by far, sure its more expensive then facebook because your paying for so much higher intent leads then cheaper ad costs on facebook where people have no intent or very low intent I should say to convert, so I would pay higher ad costs on leads that are going to convert then cheaper costs on leads that wont convert allll ddaaayyyyyyy

@afternoons9525 My feeling is that Google Ads are continually becoming a tricky little black box ◾️ Things like: - The system can spend up to 2x your daily budget when it feels like it's good for you to get more or better result (yep I know it won't spend more than 30. 4x a month, but you get the point) - Waste a whole daily budget in one hour (wth learning is that? ) - Automatically applying ad suggestions by default - Or one example above all - mighty black box ⬛️ where you have almost 0 control over the delivery = UAC campaigns that just needes to spend loads of budget to learn - dealing better hand (cards) to high spenders. Maybe it's just me being old school ‍ but when you don't have enough data for ML, a man can do a better job / decisions. Nevertheless, prejudice asaide, Google Ads are still crucial and works well in many cases if they're set-up correctly.

@chiropodist have you ran UAC ads? If so how are the results compared to FB. I’ve yet to try it.
by (450 points)
@seamanship10 FB wins right away! Google ads are running for 3 weeks now (low spends 100-200€/d) but it's far from catching up on FB CPIs yet. Everyone says it needs more time (I would say data points) to learn, but my feeling is that overall CPI would be still way above FB ads. But this is just my case! You have to test it on your own. There are some advertisers that have better results with UAC compared to FB.

Thanks. I’ve heard from most people that it requires a lot of spend.

Google Ads > Facebook. You can say all you want about price but way better quality when doing lead gen vs ecommerce.

Google and YouTube ads is so much better than Facebook to me just because you do it right you nearly can't lose and management is so damn easy

Google Shopping still feels a little half baked but it's really promising. If that product gets better, I would start using it more than FB for e-commerce clients.

I am surprised a lot of people are saying its more expensive than facebook ads. After running ads on both platforms for 3 years, I get MUCH better cost per acquisition on google/YouTube than facebook. I advertise primarily on YouTube and Its honestly amazing the amount of video views, CTR and conversions I can get vs what I pay and comparing it to facebook ads, I've barley been putting my ad budget into facebook ads the last 7-8 months because I get so much better results using google/YouTube vs facebook In terms of pricing and conversion rates.

Totally depends on what you are advertising. depending on the product, FB may be better than Google or the reverse may be true.

There is no such thing as a comfort zone in GA for any kind of business.
by (340 points)
What does that mean?
by (970 points)
@afternoons9525 most beginners, and clients, believe that you just throw your ads, do some config, press play and the magic begins and stays like that forever. Never touching the campaigns again for months. Optimization is unknown. Obviuosly you explain it to them. But. ‍♂️
by (970 points)
The truth is that it needs regular monitoring. Testing. Data analyzing. Tweaking. There must be balance, though. You cant tweak everyday and expect to keep track of results.
