Lumen5 is actually pretty amazing and well worth the price for some videos with words coming in banging out the content. Especially cool if you already have written content. For the actual video editing, I started off with Adobe After Effects, went to Premiere, I was one of the first beta testers for Adobe Premiere Rush (like when they were developing and I had to sign a non disclosure). I have tested out several desktop apps as well as like 30 mobile apps. I have done thousands of videos, like literally thousands in 3 years. All of that preface to say use iMovie, the free version that comes on a Mac and in a pinch use the free one on an iPhone. The phone lacks a couple of little things but to be 100% honest with you I still have the entire Adobe Creative Suite, still beta test for Adobe, yet when it comes to filming, editing, and putting out a product on software I actually enjoy (and voids the extras that makes you go down a rabbit hole). I have to say the free version on iMovie is enough to build a video marketing empire. and ya could probably do a few feature films and documentaries as well.
