Call them FASHION MASKS that’s how people and big brands are getting around this

Of course! How can you guarantee this fashion face masks can actually protect people? These need to have some sort of technical or medical certification to be commercialized. A piece of cloth with a cool print and a couple of strings is not a face mask. This is the case for many companies entering this business.

I understand what you are saying, but one thing is recommending and another is advertising and selling. My wife bought some face masks online that are simply a joke.

This issue raises a lot of ethical questions and i guess this is why FB is not allowing this type of promotions.

As far as the CDC is concerned, anything is better than nothing

@ulrica21492, yeah well. yesterday I went out for the first time in 40 days , with this mask we bought. They give you a false sense of security and don’t protect much because it lets in a big flow of air.

@holm9329 the fabric masks are not intended to protect the wearer from anything, they’re intended to contain the wearer’s germs -that’s all.

Ohhk, give your criteria to FB, maybe they will allow promotion

@ulrica21492 let me know how it goes. I turned down a client with this kind of product.

@holm9329 I’m no advertiser, I’m just an outsider here to learn the ins and outs.

Try running traffic ads in general to get them to your store then you could show a pop up of the mask. PM me I have an idea for you

Check out the Facebook ad policy page. All masks - including fashion masks - are explicitly banned from ads right now. The few that you see on your feed are using general copy + images to try to avoid automatic rejection. This is only working because facebook’s human review team is limited and busy during COVID. You can try to trick them and get your ads up for a while, but they’ll likely still be disapproved when a human eventually reviews the account. FB is also handing out perma bans for accounts that repeatedly break their COVID policies, including mask ads

@matron6640 Here's the current policy. My FB rep says they're hoping to open masks up again at some point. When they do, it should be updated on here:  Agreed with others, and my rep has confirmed, that your best bet is to have masks"one click away" from your other ad(s) landing page, either via a pop up, upsell, or navigation

Why is this stupid policy? People need masks and it's so hard to find them anythere.
